CS Designs DT Announced!

January 29th to 31st 2011
Chris Stern of CS Designs has just announced her brand new Design Team on her Doodle Pieces Blog and GUESS WHAT - I am very honoured to have been chosen as one of her team! She has a fantastic team so make sure you check them out as well.
I am so excited to be working with Chris and her great range of designs so keep visiting me here to check out her new releases and my "creations" using them. I will also be posting some tutorials using CS Designs digis!
You will have noticed I have been using a lot of CS Designs lately - I love that she has Arty, Traditional and Cute - it gives me a whole range of options to work with depending on what "mood" I am in!!
Thanks to Chris for giving me the opportunity to be on her team!

This little cutie is "Lulu" - LOL she loves to shop!

Shades of Red

31st January 2011
I had to make a card using "Shades of Red" for a swap I am in so I have made this card using a gorgeous Magnolia Stamped Image and I have used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers which I really liked the layout of. I've used Bazzil cardstock as the base as well as some gorgeous embossed paper I have had for quite awhile as well as some ribbon, a little heart charm and some heart punchies!I've used my Spellbinder Nestabilities to cut out the shape around Tilda. I hope the "recipient" of my card likes it!
I am also entering this card in the "I Did It Creations Challenge" this week which also has a "red" theme! As well as that the challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air" has an elements challenge - from their 'board' of elements I have used "ribbon, bling and something punched". Magnolia Down Under Challenge required a card using some form of embossing and as this card has several pieces of embossed paper I decided to enter this card in their challenge as well!

"Hues of Blue" Button Art Doll!

January 28th 2011
Here's my new "Blue" Button Doll! I've attached a couple of pics as I photographed her with different backgrounds and then couldn't decide which one I liked better LOL!
I've made a couple of Art Dolls lately so I will share them here on my Blog soon but this one I have just "wired up" this afternoon to enter at the Dezinaworld Blog Spot Prize Challenge "Hues of Blue".
I have used another of the digi stamps available at CS Designs called "Celestial Goddess" to make this beauty's face which has been coloured with copics and then UTEE'd and added to the "button" body. I've used craft wire to join all the elements together. She's hanging in my craft room on a little hook so she can "inspire" me! Hope she will "inspire" you too!

Celestial Card

January 27th 2011
Here is a card I have made for the new Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge. I actually turned the sketch on the side and worked my design that way. I've used a gorgeous "Celestial" image from Chris Stern's CS Designs digi stamps. As you know I just love her whole range! I've made this a fairly clean lined looking card as opposed to the very "busy" card in my last post!

Red, Brown & Pink!!!

January 25th 2011
Over at The Pink Elephant Challenge they have just announced their new swap which is to use the colours red, brown & pink - what a great colour combination! I love pink and I have just been starting to use more reds. I've used "Hildie" again from the range by CS Designs - she's just so cute - I love her hairdo! Make sure you check out Chris' designs they are really unique.
For this card I've used bazzil card (of course - I love the texture), patterned papers yet again from my little Crate Paper 6 x 6 pad Restoration Collection, some paper flowers with coloured brads, some rub on little flowers, a little charm which is hard to read in the photo but says "delight", a spellbinder die cut/embossed butterfly and some fibres with a couple of little butterfly charms tied on. I was really happy with how the card turned out with all those elements!

Easter Card

January 24th 2011
I've just made this Easter card for the new Bugaboo Challenge this week which is themed "Winter Whites" - I've decided to do an Easter White Card as here it's the middle of summer and I'm not feeling very "wintery"!
Also I Did It Creations have just released their Challenge theme for this week which is "A Card for a Child" so I think this fits the bill to be entered in their challenge as well!

"Chloe" from the Land of Fae!

January 23rd 2011
I have just finished this card using "Chloe" a gorgeous little fairy from the range of Digi Stamps from Chris Stern of CS Designs. She has such a great range of arty and cute and her designs are great to work with! I love this little design and also you will find her twin sister "Hildie" on one of my earlier posts. I have used a sketch from the Sketch Saturday Blog and have entered this card in their challenge.

Mini Some Odd Girl Card

January 23rd 2011
The last mini challenge for Some Odd Girl's Birthday is to make a mini card ie 3 x 4 inches or smaller. I've used my Kaylee image again as she was already printed out so it was quick for me to colour her and make this little card which is a bit smaller than 3 x 3 inches as I work in centimetres!

Last Share for Today!

January 22nd 2011
I've just made this Birthday Card using "Dottie" from the Bugaboo Digi Stamps Range and I have used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers to lay out the card. I think Dottie looks very effective in her long red dress - she's ready to party!

by Lori Designs Challenge #2

January 22nd 2011
The new challenge is out at By Lori Designs Blog. This fortnights theme is a colour challenge using the colours: soft yellow/red/dark brown and kraft. I've used little "Ella" and a gorgeous BLD dog and cat.
I've used some brown bazzil cardstock as the card base, some dark brown ribbon I just bought from the cheap shop, some little letters to make the words "Best Wishes", a couple of brads and some great patterned papers from my 6 x 6 Crate Paper pad. I think these colours look great together.

Some Odd Girl "Odd" Elements

January 22nd 2011
I've just put together another card using a Some Odd Girl Digi Stamp. This challenge for their 1st Birthday Anniversary invloved using at least 3 of the "odd" elements listed on the Challenge Blog. I chose to use a "shaped card" (ie not square or rectangle), organza ribbon, the colour orange and layers (at least 4 - LOL I think I have about 7 layers!). Anyway here's what I've put together! Some Odd Girl have such cute images.

1 Digi 3 Ways

January 22nd 2011
Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps are celebrating their one year anniversary and one of their challenges is to use a digi 3 ways. I have chosen to make a card and to make a gift bag plus a tag all using the same digi stamp "Kaylee". I love working with pink and as you can see these are quite pink!

Ava & Deacon Bookmarks

January 22nd 2011
The final mini challenge for Bugaboo Stamps 1st Birthday is "Anything Goes".  I have made Ava & Deacon into bookmarks - this happened because I accidentally printed them out a bit larger than I wanted for making cards so I decided to improvise and colour them, cut out, layer on background card and cut out again then laminate them and add tassels and call them bookmarks!!! I love bookmarks and I love reading so they will be put to good use!

Creatalicious Challenge Card

January 21st 2011
I purchased a couple of Bizzy Bec's "Blue Butterfly Digi Stamps" a little while ago and today was the first chance I have had to make a card using one of the stamps. I've used "Savannah" to make a card using ribbon with a love them to enter their current Creatalicious Challenge. I've used some eyelets to thread the ribbon through to match in with Savannah's strapless top which has lacing on it - I'm happy with the result and I love the patterned background paper which is from the "Whoopsy Daisy" range.

Bugaboo "Birthday Card"

January 21st 2011
The new Mini Challenge for Bugaboo Stamps birthday week is to make a "Birthday Card"!! I've used the image "Pink Ribbon Penny". I've used Bazzil cardstock and patterned paper and my Big Kick to cut the circles. Bugaboo is sponsoring the "Do You Stack Up" Challenge this week so as the theme was "Pink" I decided to enter this card in their challenge as well!

Meet "Hildie"

January 20th 2011
Here is a gorgeous card I have made using "Hildie" from CS Designs. I love these designs they are great! There are both Cute & Arty designs in the range so there is something for everyone - pop over and have a look!
I've used a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches to make this card so I can enter it in their current challenge. Tuesday Morning Sketches this week have an anything goes theme as long as you use some form of "metal" on your item. As you can see I've used some little metal butterfly charms and I  have sewn them onto the card.

Bugaboo "Sketch"

January 20th 2011
The next Mini Challenge for Bugaboo's Birthday Week is to use the sketch provided and make a card. Here is the card I have made and I have inserted the sketch below to show what I was working from.

Bugaboo "Bling"

January 19th 2011
The new Mini Challenge for Bugaboo's Birthday Week is to use the image provided and add some "bling". I decided to make a little gift bag using the image printed on paper and then add the image as a tag and colour it in. The clown has "bling" on his nose!!! and some "bling" Happy Birthday shapes on the bag.

Feeling Blue!

January 17th 2011
Here is my Blue & White card for the Bugaboo Mini Challenge for their 1st Birthday Week! I just love this gorgeous "Wedding Image". I've used the "He Loves Me" embossing folder again as I think it goes well with Wedding Themed cards and have embossed some pale blue Bazzil Cardstock.
I can also enter this card in the I Did It Creations Challenge Blog as they are also having a "Blue" patch!!!
I have to admit that I don't use a great deal of blue in my cards but I think I might have to start as I am really happy with how this has turned out! Hope you like it.

Baby Card

January 17th 2011
I had to make a "Celebration" card for a swap I am in so I decided on a Baby Card using a Bugaboo Digi Stamp. I've used the Sketch from Friday Sketchers to assemble my card and have used the colour scheme for The Pink Elephant Challenge - so I've combined 3 requirements into one card!

Send A Smile 4 Kids would appreciate you sending handmade cards to us for our cause - please see our challenge blog for further details.

Both images used are from Mo's Digital Pencil - Mo's images are great to colour (i've used my copic markers) and soooo cute! I've used Bazzil cardstock and some gorgeous "puppy" patterned papers as well as some co-ordinating ribbon and little footprint stickers.

Another Box!

January 14th 2011
Here are a couple of pics I have taken of a "Scallop Box" I have just made using a template from Mirkwood Designs Templates - great range of templates on this site. I covered the cardboard with beautiful Japanese papers then assembled the top and bottom and they "scallop" together as you can probably tell from the photos. You make a top and bottom for the box from the same pattern. The image on the top is from a fantastic artist Chris Stern from CS Designs - this is one of her Asian Designs. I have coloured it with copics and layered it on card and attached a Japanese embellishment to it and stuck it to the top of the box. I haven't made anything with an Asian Flavour for awhile so I enjoyed this - I even made an Origami Paper Crane!

Pillow Box

January 14th 2011
The challenge for this fortnight over at 'Some Odd Girl' Digi Stamps Challenge Blog is "Let's Get Embossed"!! I have made a few embossed cards in the last few days so I decided that instead of another card I would make another "box" - and I have embossed a piece of light blue vellum to cut and fold into the pillow shape. The image I have used is from the Some Odd Girl Digi range - "Kiss a Prince Tia" - I guess she is hoping like crazy that the frog does turn into a prince!! I've also added some sheer ribbon, some heart punchies and a little Bead Queen Charm. Of course I have coloured Tia and her "prince" with copics and added a bit of "Smooch" to her shoes and dress and some clear stickles to her crown.

Embossed Birthday Card

January 12th 2011
Hi Everyone - I've just finished putting this birthday card together - I have had the various "elements" sitting ready to be assembled for several days now but just hadn't gotten around to sticking all the pieces on! This digi stamp is another of the Bugaboo Range - LOL as you can tell I am very taken with this range of stamps and have been using them quite a bit lately. This card has embossed vellum as well and I have also used some "Smooch" to colour the dress bows, sleeves, the earrings and necklace as well as centres for the flowers on the base embossed card. The Smooch gives a good effect. (If you want to purchase some my friend Wendy P - sells Kaszazz which stock Smooch in a great range of colours).
I am going to enter this card in the Bugaboo Embossed Challenge.

Gift Box

11th January 2011
Had a little bit of 'creative' time today (when I came home for lunch - shhh don't tell DH) and have made this little gift box out of Bazzill Cardstock, Embossed Vellum, a digi stamp by 'Some Odd Girl' and some ribbon, punches and a little moon shaped charm. I've taken a picture from the side as well so you can see the 'box' shape of it. Cute little box for a present for a little girl! I'm also going to enter this in the 'I Did It Creations Challenge' for this week which requires using 'vellum'. I have to admit I haven't used vellum for a loooong time so this was a good opportunity to get some off the paper rack and put it to good use. I have some nice thick vellum which goes through my Big Kick really nicely so I was happy with the effect.

This little box was published in the February 2011 Edition of the Scrapbook News & Review Online Magazine!

Card for "Tuesday Morning Sketches"

January 9th 2011
Another card made today for the 'Tuesday Morning Sketches' Blog. I have included a picture of the sketch for the challenge which I think is a great design. I used a digi stamp from By Lori Designs which I used as well on a card I made yesterday but she is so cute and I had printed her off twice so I couldn't resist colouring her in a different coloured dress!

Bugaboo "Embossed Challenge"

January 9th 2011
The new challenge over at the Bugaboo Challenge site "Catch the Bug Challenge Blog" was to make a card using embossing of some sort (wet or dry!). I've used my Cuttlebug A2 Embossing Plus 'He Loves Me' folder and I've placed a Bugaboo Digi Stamp "Ruby" behind the heart cut out. I've added some red diamanti's to the embossed card as well as Ruby's earrings. I think the 'He Loves Me' folder is great for making wedding cards as well - I use metallic finish card for a really elegant finish.

by Lori Designs Challenge #1

January 8th 2011
Another card made today - this time for by "Lori Designs Challenge". This was a "colour" challenge using a Digi Stamp by Lori. I think she has some really cute images so I bought some last night ! This little cutie is "Ella". I used my Spellbinders Curved Rectangles for Ella and the patterned paper behind, along with Bazzill cardstock, paper flowers and a piece of pink cord.

CLP Sketch Challenge

January 8th 2011
I've had time for a bit of card making today so here is the card I have just finished making for the CLP Sketch Challenge for January. I've used one of my new Magnolia "Tilda" stamps for the first time on this card - isn't she gorgeous? The papers I've used on this card are from a new 6 x 6 pad I recently bought (Crate Paper Collection Kit Restoration Collection) - they are great because they are double sided and thicker than paper which was easier for sewing on my sewing machine. I've been meaning to "sew" some cards for quite some time now but kept putting it off - today was the day to try it out and I'm really happy with the result. The wording and little flowers are from a rub on sheet. (I've included a picture of the Sketch for the CLP challenge as well).

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge

January 7th 2011 Card Made for Challenge
I have made this card for the "Sunday Sketch and Stamp" Challenge. The requirement was to make a card using the sketch provided (see below). The card also needed to incorporate a rubber stamp or digi stamp image. I have used another of the fantastic "Bugaboo Stamps" on my card along with some patterned paper and bazzill cardstock with various ribbons, paper flowers and 3 dimensional flower. I've coloured "Scarlette" with my copic markers. Hope you like it!

"Fanny" Bugaboo Stamp

January 3rd 2011
As soon as I saw this Digi Stamp - I knew she was wearing an "itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini"!!! Isn't she just gorgeous? I really had fun making this card today. I've also made a few Xmas cards (shock & horror!!) using some Xmas Bugaboo Digi Stamps one is shown below - thought this "Fruitcake" one would be good for my MIL as she is right "into" making fruitcakes and puddings for Xmas. I must stop making Xmas Cards but the Bugaboo images are so cute and I have them printed out that I just keep colouring them and making cards!

Collage Cards

January 2nd 2011
I made these 2 collage cards tonight using some vintage images I had along with embossed & patterned paper and embellishments from my stash. Collage cards are one of my favourite "techniques" for making cards - it gives me an opportunity to use up little bit and pieces of paper left over from other projects. I love vintage style card making - I'm always on the look out for different vintage images.

Challenge "Send a Smile 4 Kids"

1st Challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids Blog
I'm a DT member at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Blog and here are my cards for the new "Sketch" / "Anything Goes" Challenge. Thanks to Mari for getting the Blog up and running for the New Year and for sponsoring this first challenge. Hope you can take the time to enter the challenge. Make sure you get your "entries" in by the 15th January 2011.

Stamps used: The "shoes" are from Bugaboo Stamps. Unfortunately I'm not sure who makes the gorgeous little girl holding her bunny.

Tri Shutter Card

New Years Day 2011
Hi Everyone
Well it's New Year's Day and I've been able to get some time to make some cards for various swaps and challenges.
I have a few swaps coming up which require "folded" cards so started by making a Tri Shutter Card. It has come up really well so I'm going to make another one along the same lines as well as trying out a few different folds.

I've used a 2 sided piece of 12 x 12 cardstock (cut to size) which enabled me to use the reverse sides of the cut off pieces. I've also used printed vintage woman image, various embellishments, brads, gold stickers, paper flowers and rubber stamp wording.

Happy New Year

New Year's Day January 2011
Welcome to my brand new Blog! My New Year's resolution for 2011 was to set up a Blog - FINALLY!! So at last here it is (basic but here at least!) I hope to update regularly with whatever cards and handmade items I am making at the time. I hope you can visit often and enjoy my "showcase"! Sharon

I thought I would share a New Year card with you to celebrate the arrival of 2011. I have used a Bugaboo Digital Stamp coloured with my new Copic Markers. I love this image!
