Vintage Page Designs

April 30th 2012
Ali Manning from Vintage Page Designs is releasing some new kits at her Etsy Store this week - the theme of her first kit is "Birds"! I am one of the lucky ones to be a Guest Designer for Ali & her bird kits. Ali's kits are packed with gorgeous vintage book pages and bird illustrations - perfect ephemera to create a wide range of things with!

The first creations I am sharing are 2 little notebooks I altered using the bird pages and images

Here is a picture of what the notebooks looked like before their makeover (very boring):

Make sure you visit Ali's Blog, her store and the other Guest Designers to see what fabulous creations can be made with old paper and don't miss out on purchasing Ali's kits when they are released on Thursday 3rd May.

The Sun is Shining

April 29th 2012

A reminder post for our "You are my Sunshine" Challenge at Wicked Wednesday. I've made this ATC using images and a sentiment from Chris at CS Designs - I love Egyptian style anything!! I have used Smooch to add the colour to the images.

Rain Down On Me!!

April 28th 2012
This is my altered coaster hanging for the current Smudgy Antics "Rain Down on Me" Challenge.

I've used a Smeared Ink image and added some rain clouds along with a little saying printed in a "rainy" font!! I've used watercolour paints to add some colour to the clouds and image. I added some glittery paint to the clouds and wording as well to give a "wet" look for the challenge theme!

You Are My Sunshine!

April 26th 2012

What a "sunny" theme for our new weekly challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog!! This week our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps so as usual you have the opportunity to win a great image when you enter your ATC!

This week I have made 2 ATC's with a "sunshine" theme using collage images from Art Tea Life & Lisa's Altered Art.

Believe in Yourself!

April 23rd 2012
Some more inspiration for our Anything Goes Challenge at Art With No Boundaries - please remember to read our rules before linking up your creation!!

I've used another great Solitaire image from CS Designs - Mysterious Butterfly along with some cute little butterfly graphics from Dezinaworld. The sentiment is also from CS Designs.

This is also perfect for the new Macabre Monday Challenge at the Haunted Design House Blog "Eye Can See You" as the Mysterious Butterfly Solitaire image is all about the "eyes" - they really stand out behind the mask & I've used bold colours to give a bit of a "Gothic" look - I like a bit of darkness in my creations every now and again!

I like the clean look of this card with the red/white/grey & black. And becasue I have used the "Butterfly" masked Solitaire image and butterfly graphics I am also entering this card in the new Our Creative Corner "Butterflies" Challenge. I think the metamorphasis from caterpillar to butterfly is truly a miracle and I love this butterfly quote:

If nothing ever changed
There'd be no butterflies.

Belated Easter!

I've used an image I won from a previous challenge "Rosalina" - she's great! The egg & bunny ears Rosalina is wearing are from collage sheets by Lisa's Altered Art. Of course everything is pink - my favourite colour!! I think Rosalina is looking somewhat concerned about that big chocolate bunny!!
