An Alternate Xmas....

December 29th 2015

A last xmas make which you can find all the instructions for at the Unruly Paperarts Site!

Digital images and digital patterned papers are all available at the SLS Lines Etsy Store - lots of great quirky, gothic and alternate images to play with along with traditional designs plus lots of digital patterned papers and clip art!

Acetate backing cards always look so effective- they are just hard to photograph! I sent this xmas card to the "editor" of the Unruly Paperarts Site as this is my last article and the last month for the Unruly Paperarts Site - from 2016 the site will be closed - it has been great to be a part of it!! But looking forward to new creativeness in 2016!

Naughty or Nice?

December 28th 2015

Sharing another mixed media journal page with one of the December Karleigh Sue releases "Naughty or Nice".

Mixed media background for this page - paint, tissue paper, stamps, texture paste and ink sprays. Plus I added some feathers, muslin and the wording is a Silhouette file. Image coloured with Copic markers. I wanted to create and "opposite" effect" so did one side of the page darker colours to match the "naughty" side of the image and the other half of the page "nice" soft pink colours!

More Karleigh Sue Inspiration can be found at the Blog!

Dreaming of a PINK Xmas!

December 25th 2015

Another non traditional xmas creation - in PINKI of course! A journal page for SLS Lines - check out the Blog for more DT inspiration for our Xmas Post today!

Background is ink sprayed greaseproof paper crumpled and adhered to the page. Added some snowflake sequins and the stamped wording. Coloured the 2 girls with Copic Markers and white puff paint for snow and the fluffy bits on their clothing.

Vera Lane Studio Xmas Tag....

December 23rd 2015

Whipped up a quick xmas tag using this gorgeous image from Vera Lane Studio!! The hat was added to the gal - Janet has great add ons and mix and match images - LOL I placed the hat right down over her eyes - so cute!

Background tag was gesso with Tim Holtz tissue paper then gelatos for some soft colour, added the fussy cut image with ink sprayed muslin bow at the top and some white sticky look lace down the side to finish off. I used watercolour pencils to colour the image for a soft look.

Add Antlers!

December 21st 2015

The current challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog is "Add Antlers" and the sponsor this week is SLS Lines - I'm on the DT at SLS Lines so thought I would whip up an ATC for this challenge using one of the images I have with antlers LOL!!!!

I've coloured the image with Copic Markers, added some texture by way of hessian, material leaf, paper/paint/ink spray background and the "be wild" letters.

Greetings in Pink & Blue.....

December 20th 2015

A non-traditional coloured xmas journal page using one of Sandra Caldwell's new Xmas images now available ion her Etsy Store! I love Sandra's quirky style and all her great characters.

I made this page for Sandra's challenge at her Facebook Group. I used paint, ink sprays, texture paste, stencil, Silhouette cuts, sparkly stars, glitter glue and image is coloured with Copic markers. So cute! If you haven't seen Sandra's images before make sure you check them out!

A Christmas Wreath....

December 19th 2015

Sharing a mixed media tag using a xmas image by Karleigh Sue Digi Stamps - I am going to be a guest designer next month for Karleigh Sue but was lucky enough to get a couple of images to create with for the lead up to xmas! You can see my post and other inspiration at the Inspiration Blog plus play along with the current challenge at the Challenge Blog!

Background is kitchen/greaseproof paper sprayed with spray inks and scrunched up and adhered to the plain tag. I let the excess hang over and trimmed it all up once it was dry. Image has been coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut (I have a fear of white space LOL so you will notice that almost everything I do involves fussy cutting! I added some puffy white paint to her hat to add some texture and make it look fluffy! To finish off the tag I sprayed a scrap piece of muslin cloth and added to the bottom of the tag along with a tree charm and some sparkly gems!

Winter Holiday.....

December 18th 2015

Time for a new challenge at Nikki Burnette's Spellbinding Challenge Blog - this challenge will run for 3 weeks and we want to see any winter holiday/celebration themed creations! Would love to see Nikki's images but any entries are welcome.

I decorated a page in my black journal - texture paste and a snowflake stencil to the background which I then sprayed with a variety of coloured spray ink (Dylusions & Lindy's Stamp Gang) plus rubbed some "pearl" shimmer paint around the edge and over parts of the page for shimmer and more texture.

Image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut plus I added some Stampendous shaved ice and "winter" lettering to finish off.

Noel!

December 17th 2015
A couple of quick and easy xmas cards using a new xmas digi from JessicaLynnOriginal!

I've done this style before - just swipe ink pads on your card  then rubber stamp or print a digi stamp on top, add a bow and that's it! A good way to use old ink pads and get the last bit of ink - some of these I used would be over 10 years old - they are nearly done!!!

As you can see any colours work for xmas - I like non-traditional so perfect!

Halloween Kids get "Revenge" on Santa........

December 14th 2015

I just couldn't resist making this large journal page with a Halloween versus Christmas theme!! The Santa upended in the cupcake is a new digi available from the JessicaLynnOriginal store - perfect for Xmas but when Jessica gave it to us (her DT) I knew I had to make something weird with it!

Little girl collage images are from Lisa's Altered Art (one of my favourite stores for collage images and wording - nice & quirky!!) Wording is computer generated. All the black cut outs are Silhouette files. I added some muslin coth and some thin string to "hang" the cupcakes.

Hopefully you "get" it - every year it seems that xmas decorations and products are almost on the shelves before Halloween has been - not that Halloween is huge here in Australia but it seems to be getting more popular and it's almost quick get the Halloween done and get the xmas out! LOL I actually like the Halloween theme/images/decorations better!
