Free Love in the 1960's.....

June 28th 2016
A quick post to enter my ICAD Day 20 "1960's" into June's Dezinaworld "Cheeky Tuesday Blog Challenge" - Favourite Era. I've used collage images from Gecko Galz - these "60's" sheets were the very first Gecko Galz sheets I owned. Love the VW Beetle and Tiggy Model. Background index card was a "mop up" card from some excess ink, paint and texture paste. I used an assortment of letters to make the words "free love" and ran the sewing machine across the card a few times.

June 27th 2016

New release day for Sandra Caldwell - check out the Etsy Store for all the new releases and the FB Group for the rest of the DT's creations!!!

My large journal page today uses #789 Lovely Lela digi.I coloured her with copics and fussy cut and added to the journal page I had actually done last year but wasn't really happy with how it was looking - love it now with Lovely Lela and her "contemplative" thoughts LOL!!!

Charming Tags....

June 26th 2016

Another lot of collage style creations using the charming Fragments Journal Kit by Daisy at Tsunami Rose - a set of 3 altered tags. I had so many wonderful bits and pieces left over from the set of 3 cards I made that I didn't need to print anything else - tags are perfect for using up odd shaped bits and small leftovers.

All paper elements on these tags are by Tsunami Rose - I only added embellishments like flowers, charms, braid and lace to finish these off.

You can find more inspiration at the Tsunami Rose Blog and also the FB Group!

I am guest Designer at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Blog for their new challenge "O is for Outer Space" - LOVED this theme - right up my alley!!!!

I called on the talents of Sandra Caldwell for a spacey image!!! She had #445 Sir Spock all ready drawn and ready to go so I snapped him up from her store - click here to find him for yourself!!!

I made a mixed media journal page for my creation. Background is acrylic paint and stencil with some marks made with an old lid and credit card. wording was computer generated. Spock was coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut! I love how this turned out - just perfect!!!! Hope you can join the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - I bet there are some amazing creations for this challenge!

Charming Fragments...

June 24th 2016

Sharing 3 cards made with a great Journal Kit by Tsunami Rose "Charming Fragments" - sooooo many pages and elements in this kit. All elements except the old book pages and embellishments are from the journal kit - gorgeous colours tones to work with.

I've used lots of layers of the digital papers and elements teamed with lace, braid, cloth, charms & paper flowers. I've been doing a lot of layered collage cards lately - always love the effect of so much to look at!

Make sure you visit the Facebook Page and Group as well for updates and specials and more creations!

Horrorscope....

June 22nd 2016

A Storm in a Teacup....

June 21st 2016

A fun new challenge at the SLS Lines Blog - we want to see you create "Anything BUT a Card"!!!

I've created a mixed media double "tea" themed tag! I used the tickets off some teabags to create some texture in the background along with some gesso and pink paint. I used a Kaisercraft stap to add the effect of a cup sitting on the tag. Wording is computer generated and I added string and muslin cloth as well. Image is called "Teacup Monster" and is available HERE in the store!

Full Metal Jacket

June 20th 2016

Another new release day for Sandra Caldwell at her Etsy Store and this week I got to work with this fabulous #833 Steampunk Kitty digi!!! I love anything steampunk and this cat is very quirky!

I've altered an index card with a range of mixed media products! I started with an index card I had been using to "mop up" excess ink sprays - I then added some texture paste through a stencil and added more ink sprays. I edged the card with embossing fluid and used Stampendous Embossing Enamel powder and heat embossed. I had a leftover piece of steampunk gears cut from my Silhouette which I embossed with Ranger Embossing Antiquities Cement powder.

Cat image was coloured with copics and fussy cut then layered on the card with the embossed gears, computer generated wording and a steampunk charm which I added some chain to and a pin from a clothing label attached to the cat's vest. Very happy with the effect of this creation!!

Priceless Beauties....

June 19th 2016

A set of 3 staple collage altered 6 x 4 index cards made using gorgeous digis by Sandra Caldwell and collage papers from the Monochrome Black Journal Kit by Tsunami Rose and from now until September 1st there is a 50% off sale at the Tsuanmi Rose Store!

My gorgeous little images were coloured with copics and then fussy cut!

I printed lots of bits & pieces of the kit and then layered them all up!! the only thing holding everything together is the staples!!!

I added some lace, ribbon, braid & paper doily from my stash to the papers and digis!

These were a lot of fun and pretty quick to finish off once I had all the bits & pieces arranged!!

There are a few FB groups associated with Tsuanmi Rose that you might like to join the Tsunami Rose Fan Page and the Tsunami Rose FB Group!

And Sandra has a great FB Group too where there are competitions, challenges and lots of fun!!
