Porky Reindeer.....

September 27th 2016

New release day yet again at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy Store! I never get tired of Sandra's images - they are always so quirky and great to create with! This image today is #1035 Porky Reindeer - LOL Sandra has some great character pig digis!

I've altered an index card with scraps of patterned papers and paint to make a grid effect - inspiration from Daisy Yellow - lots of great ideas at the Daisy Yellow site! Porky was coloured with copics and coloured pencils and fussy cut and added to the index card with some fibre I tied to look like a bow, a snowflake ornament and some pink gens! Loved creating this - lots of fun!

Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch....

September 26th 2016

New release day again at Sandra's Etsy Store - today I am sharing an "oldie" that has been rereleased into the store - #617 Honey Child & Jacko - such a cute image to colour and create with! Picture above shows her coloured with pastel pencils before I fussy cut her and added her to my mixed media journal page.

Page background was a gelli print and I thought the colours were well suited to the image - I added old book page "border" to the top and bottom and coloured with some old ink pads in orange/yellow tones.

Pumpkin cut outs are Silhouette files and I added wobbly eyes for some more character! Wording is computer generated, printed on kraft colour paper and torn out. I added a raffia bow to the top with the orange fibre. Very happy with how this turned out. I always say how great Sandra's images are to colour and create with!

Old Lady Pumpkin....

September 25th 2016

A great Fall image by Sandra Caldwell - #63 Old Lady Dang Pumpkins - available in her store now!

I printed her on kraft coloured paper and coloured with colour pencils then fussy cut and added to my mixed media index card. This was a "mop up" card for excess ink sprays. I added the hessian leaves and sprayed muslin cloth plus the computer generated quote in the top corner. LOL it's coming into Spring here in Australia but of course it is Autumn on the other side of the world.

Heart ATC...

September 19th 2016
Something made much earlier in the year and not shared yet - what's new!

This is an ATC using a great winged heart image by Sandra Caldwell. I used the same heart for the background as well by copying and pasting multiple times over the background and printing direct onto the ATC. Image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and added to the ATC with a piece of ink sprayed muslin and little "made with love" heart charm.

I'm also entering this in June Mac's Cheeky Challenge - Week 36 "Wings"!

Strategic Staples.....

September 16th 2016
Sharing a couple of collaged index cards using staples as the attachment - no glue OMG!!! Digi images which I printed on kraft coloured paper are by JessicaLynnOriginal - the first one has "Brentwood" Owl as the "Mad Hatter" and the second has an Egyptian style cat - love them both!

This first card is my entry in this month's challenge over at the Desert Islands Crafts Challenge Blog http://desertislandcraftschallenge.blogspot.com - take a look at this challenge blog - it's just started up again and it's a lot of fun to create using items from the "itinerary" each month! This month has an "Alice in Wonderland" theme to it hence my card below being entered!

I've used the following items from the list:
1. Wonderland - has an "Alice" tea party image!
2. Flowers - there are some flowers on the old book page in the background
5. Tea Party - Brentwood is having his own tea party
8. Furry Friend? well questionable - LOL a "feathery" owl friend!
10. Black & Red

My card below uses old book page, tissue paper, silhouette cut out etc. - love the Egyptian theme.

Exterminate!!!

September 15th 2016

Sharing a new image available at the SLS Lines Website - "Fantasy Angry Robot" - on an altered index card. Background card started as a mop up card with some excess paint I had from another creation and scraps of book pages. I added some coloured texture paste through a stencil and embossed the edges with a "cement" coloured embossing powder. I also embossed some left over silhouette cut outs and added to the bottom corner and added some metal nuts to the top of the card. Wording is computer generated. I coloured the robot with copics and fussy cut and he is mounted to the front.

Halloween is Coming...

September 15th 2016

A couple of quick ATC's I made using collage images from Gecko Galz. A great way to use up some bits and pieces of paper and die cuts that I had laying around! I'm entering these at the current Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge with theme of "Getting Ready for Halloween"!!

Give the Dog a Bone...

September 13th 2016

A journal page made for the current challenge at the Oddball Stamps Blog with a theme of "Use the Colour Blue"!! I've used "Whimsical Puppy Maddy" and coloured her blue with pastel pencils and added her to a mixed media journal page all in blue! Lots of blue and it's not normally a colour I create with!

Background journal page is blue shades of acrylic paint covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper then I added texture paste through a stencils and coloured with water soluble pastels, some washi tape and little cardboard letters. Love how this turned out!

Just Hanging Around.....

September 12th 2016

New release day at Sandra's Etsy Store - lots of great digis to be released - always DT inspiration with these digis at the Facebook Group! This week I worked with #1020 Bat Me - LOL such a cutie!

I decided to print him multiple times in varying sizes and turn them "upside down" and hanging on a branch! Background is acrylic paint and crackle liquid (very old crackle liquid which I also proceeded to spill on my laptop!!) I was trying for a moonlight night - hence the yellow through the black. Branch is a Silhouette file and wording is computer generated.

I coloured the bats with my trusty pastel pencils which still remain my favourite colouring tool even though awhile ago I splurged and bought some Prismacolours - they are still in the big tin unused!!

I'm also entering this at the Desert Islands Crafts Challenge Blog - JUST started up again - I was on this DT a long time ago when it was running - so happy to see it back - I love working from the "itinerary"! The "items" I have used from the list are: Things with Wings, Stars, Make it Sparkle and Anything But a Card!

A Cup of Cat???

September 11th 2016

A couple of creations made for swaps at the Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group - above is a mixed media ATC using one of Janet's gorgeous cat digis and tea bag tickets as the background. Below is a mixed media tag with a stencil ink sprayed background and cute dog digi with one of Janet's "accessory" hats - these digis are great as they are png files and you can layer them and add other elements to them!

You can find all of Janet's quirky digis at her Etsy store - Vera Lane Studio - so many great images to colour and create with!

What's New Pussycat???

September 10th 2016
Sharing a set of 3 mixed media index cards using digis from the Cute House Cat Set available at the SLS Lines store!! You can see more details at the SLS Lines Blog!!

Index card backgrounds were done on my gelli plate - having a lot of fun with that - finally LOL! Digis printed onto old book pages and coloured with pastel pencils - I love the effect - got the inspiration from a creation Corrie Herriman posted at Facebook.

I also added stamps, colouring with pastels, texture paste, washi tape and computer generated wording. Fun creations!

Sunshine on a Rainy Day.....JLO Journal page

September 9th 2016

I made this some time ago but realised I hadn't published it here on my blog! Digi "Brentwood Owl" by JessicaLynnOriginal.

I've created a mixed media journal page in my A4 journal. Background is ink sprays. Digi coloured with pastel pencils, fussy cut and adhered to the page with some ink sprayed muslin cloth. Wording stamped with alphabet stamps to finish off!

Steampunk Snowy.....

September 6th 2016

New release digi in Sandra's Store now - #1008 Steampunk Snowy - love this digi - so great to create a steampunk themed journal page! I used my black journal and added a cut out from my Silhouette plus some metallic ink sprays and paint - very happy with the effect. Added some charms and a gold border with "Smoosh". "Steamy" was coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and I added the gold sticker letters.

Who would have thought of a steampunk snowman other than Sandra???

Haunted Ladies Pocket Letter...

September 2nd 2016

I made this pocket letter for a swap for a little crafty group I belong to!! Theme was Autumn/Fall or Back to School - I went with Autumn colours and used my Gelli Plate for the first time after owning it for nearly 12 months and never had it out of the package LOL! The background pattern paper and paper doiley were printed with the Gelli plate. The collage "witches" are from a great sheet by Gecko Galz "Haunted Ladies" - they were just perfect - fiddly to cut out but perfect for the look I wanted!

I'm entering this in the Gecko Galz September Customer Challenge "Witching Hour" - a perfect fit for this month!

Here's the back showing the goodies in the pockets!!

Orange & Brown...

September 1st 2016

A new month which means a new challenge at the Delicious Doodles Blog and this month our theme is to use "Orange & Brown" colour combo!!! I've used one of Teri's Astrological/Zodiac Sign digis - "Leo" and altered a 6 x 4 index card. I played around with the Bokeh Technique - I love the softness of this technique. I coloured "Leo" with copics and fussy cut and added to the index card along with a piece of muslin cloth, some corner charms and found the Bjork quote doing a Google search and printed that out and added to the top. Can't wait to see everyone's entries using this colour combo!!
