Down on the Corner

February 28th 2016

I love this gorgeous image by Sandra Caldwell! "Mr Mann" is available at Sandra's Etsy Store!!!

I had a definite idea in my head of what I wanted the background to be and the song "Down on the Corner" was a part of that look. I used a stencil I made on my Silhouette and texture paste then when that was dry I used a variety of spray inks to achieve the brick wall look. Image coloured with copic markers and fussy cut. The letters are from Julie van Oosten's "Collections" range - like to support aussies!!!! Such a cute image - sure I will be using him again!

Above is a card I made with some great "farm" feel digital patterned papers available from Etsy at the Starglow Studio Store - fun papers and perfect for this card! As you can see I used my sewing machine to stitch all the card elements. Brentwood stamp and the fence stamp were coloured with colour pencils. The sentiment is also part of the set - a fun stamp!! Added some sticky mesh and bits of raffia type strands to look like straw!! AND I am entering this card in the current "Birds of a Feather" challenge at the Cardz 4 Guyz Blog!!!!

Below is a set of 2 ATC's made with an ink sprayed and stencilled background, images stamped on white card and again coloured with colour pencils plus more of the "straw"!!! And below the ATC's is a set of 9 "inchies" made with the same ink sprayed backing card and more stamps, colouring and fussy cutting!!

Love & Loyalty Kit.....

February 25th 2016

Sharing a pocket letter made using the new "Love & Loyalty" Journal Kit available at the Tsunami Rose Etsy Store along with all the other amazing kits to create with.

Digi image above "Dusty" is by Sandra Caldwell and is available at her Etsy Store along with all of her other quirky designs!! Digi image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and adhered to the front of the pocket letter.

All patterned papers and add ons like the labels and tags are all from the kit and add on pack - so many to choose from - I've only used a small portion of what comes in the kit!! Some are so gorgeous I didn't want to cover the pattern with any other layers!

I added corner metal charms, muslin cloth, washi tape, skeleton leaves and string to complete this pocket letter!

Colourful Carmen.......

February 23rd 2016

Another brand new image from Sandra Caldwell - she has so many new images every week it's great - not great for the bank balance but great nevertheless!!!! And you can never have too many digis - right???

This page was created using "prompts" from a fun weekend event at the Unruly Paperarts FB Group - I made this page using the 5 prompts from my row of BINGO numbers! It actually worked out perfectly for this image and the look of the page!

Prompts were:
Add some sparkle/shine
Warm colour ie. orange, yellow, red
Use a colour you don't normally use
Add some text/words
Use scraps of collage paper

I covered all the above and completed the page!

Year of the Monkey....

February 22nd 2016

Sharing an altered index card made with a brand new image released this week by Sandra Caldwell "Monkey New Year" - available at her Etsy Store!

I altered an index card for a swap I was in with an Aussie swap group - theme of Chinese New Year and this image was just perfect for 2016 being the Year of the Monkey! Background is very much mixed media - including gesso, Asian text book pages, ink psrays, gold paint, Silhouette Lantern cut outs, gold smooch, stamped wording and of course the digi stamp coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut! I love the effect and how it turned out and it has been received by my swap partner and they love it too.

I am also entering this card at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "Mixed Media" Challenge!!!

The Aristocats....

February 21st 2016

A great new challenge for this month at the SLS Lines Challenge Blog - theme is: Movie or Book Title - hence my "The Aristocats"!!!

I've done a double page spread in my black page journal. Backgrounds are texture paste through stencils and then ink sprayed. Some fibres and bits & pieces added along with 2 perfect images from the SLS Lines Store.

Here's "Marie" coloured with pastel pencils, fussy cut and added to the page. You can find this image here in the store: click here. "Princess Spoiled Cat".

And these cats were perfect to be "The Alley Cats" from the movie and you can find them here: click here. "Cool Cat Kitty Cats".

We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge - should be a great variety of movie/book titles on show!

Boston Terriers....

February 20th 2016

Today the JessicaLynnOriginal DT are promoting a new stamp set now available in store "Boston Terriers". For links to the DT and Jessica's info visit her blog: click here!!!

A fabulous set to create with - lots of options - several dog stamps plus wording and some little accent stamps.

I've had some fun creating a double tag and also 2 ATC's for this promo.

I kept 2 packaging tags together and added some texture paste through a stencil, once it was dry I used spray inks to colour it up in co-ordinating colours to those used to colour the dog stamp with my pastel pencils. I added ink sprayed muslin coth, string and fibre to the tag tops and some Silhouette file cut outs - 'Lucky" and the clover. Really love how this came out - green is not a colour I usually create with but I really like this one! AND I am entering this mixed media "Lucky" tag into the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers current "Mixed Media" Challenge as it's perfect!!!!

All stamped images coloured with pastel pencils - just love the effect and how these turned out. all cut outs are Silhouette files and other bits & pieces are from my stash - fibres, letters, sticky mesh etc.

Jessica always has new sets in store - stay tuned here for the same time next week when I will share creations using another of the new stamps sets!!
