Envious???

April 30th 2018

A very classy Rick St Dennis digi "Get My Point" coloured in "green" and added to a mixed media double tag!

I'm linking her up to the "Take a Word" Blog today for this week's theme of "Hats" - she is just perfect with her vintage style hat.

Tag background is old book pages and some patterned tissue paper, texture paste through a stencil, ink sprays, muslin cloth, matching green feathers, computer generated wording and the fibre at the ends of the tags. Main image coloured with Copic Markers. I just love how this turned out.

Messy Yeti's....

April 29th 2018

These ATC's were created for the Oddball Stamps Facebook Group ATC swap for this month! theme of  "Messy & Sketchy" and that is also the theme for the Blog Challenge this month too.

These cute little "Yeti's" are available at the Etsy Store! I've coloured them with Copics and fussy cut and added to the ATC backgrounds which were dry embossed with watercolour paper and Brushos! Some added washi tape, cotton and computer generated wording finished them off - and not to forget the "wobbly" eyes I added!

The Three Muses Blog has a prompt of "The Sea World" this week and I thought this journal page was perfect - this diver is discovering the sea!!! LOL

This "diver" gal is a digi by Bloobel Stamps - always love the quirkiness of Lisa's digis - perfect for fun journal page creations! Digi coloured with Copic markers and added to an underwater background including fishing net and line accessories with some little half pearls to imitate bubbles!!!

Time Flies.....

April 23rd 2018

I had a great time creating this journal page using a fab digi and collage wings by Vera Lane Studio!! It's perfect for this week's theme at the "Take a Word" Blog - I haven't "played" for awhile just been too busy but I just have to link this up for the "Time" theme this week!

I created this page in my black journal using gesso, patterned papers - love the pocket watch images on this paper. Main digi image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut. The wings are pre-coloured collage images which I adhered behind the gentleman. Other embellishments are sticky mesh, washi, muslin cloth and little scrabble type cardboard letters "time flies". Just love how it turned out and the monochromatic look!

Magyck Moana!

April 22nd 2018

LOL I love creating Halloween themed things anytime of the year and although Halloween is not really celebrated in Australia I still seem to have a bit of a "thing" for creepy images! Plus the Dream in Darkness Challenge Blog allows for creepy creations each month in their challenge!!!

This gal is "Magyck Moana" by Rick St Dennis - you can grab here as part of a Witches Colouring Book compilation available at Rick's Zibbet Store along with other colouring books and his latest limited release digi!

I've used digital patterned papers by Gecko Galz for the torn background. Moana has been coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut and added to a purple ink sprayed scrap of muslin cloth along with the computer generated wording! She's too cute! Well creepy cute!!

Wild and Free.....

April 15th 2018

A new set of digis in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy Store - "The Fleur Fairies" - so cute!

I've created a double page spread in my "dedicated" Vera Lane Studio little journal!!! Background is watercolour paints, water spritzer and a brayer with some bubble wrap and white paint to add some lightness. I added washi tape and the wording also from Vera Lane Studio!

U is for Umbrella.....

April 11th 2018

A fun new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and this is my entry using gorgeous digis from Vera Lane Studio "U is for Umbrella"!

Digi stamp printed on an old book page, coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut. Wording is computer generated. And I had some fun melting a rainbow of crayons down the page! Of course this was impractical for a journal page as you can imagine working on the back of this page and in general creating in this journal has meant most of the "drips" have broken off but at least I got pics before all that happened and I still love the concept of it!

Blank Page Muse Challenge: Black & White + One Colour...

April 9th 2018

Nearly time for the new challenge and theme at the Blank Page Muse Blog!! Who doesn't love a Black & White Theme with a "POP" of colour???? You will find lots of DT inspiration at the challenge blog - always lots of great ideas on how to use your Blank Page Muse rubber stamps! So make sure you join the hop and visit everyone!

I've used stamps from the "Oddly Appealing" set by Cathy Frailey available at the Blank Page Muse Store - I love the quirky designs in this set - perfect for tag art and journaling with mixed media!

Here's a few pics and instructions on how I created this double tag:

Firstly I used a spatula to spread a thin layer of gesso over the tags.

Then I added some torn book pages using gel medium. once dry I trimmed the overhang with scissors.

I grabbed a swirly stencil and using texture paste I covered the entire tag area.

Next - to keep with the black and white theme I sprayed the tag with dylusions ink sprays.

Next I edged the double tag with embossing liquid and sprinkled black enamel powder over, tapped off the excess and heat set - love the shine!!

Stamp your chosen images onto white cardstock with your focal colour - clearly my colour is pink - of course!!! Fussy cut the main image and cut diagonal edges around the wording and edge with the ink pad. Note: I stamped 2 of the main image and layered them for a "double" effect!

I sprayed a piece of muslin cloth with pink  and arranged that under my image and wording, adhered the stamped images on top and added some matching coloured sequins to the tag along with some raffia ties at the top! I just love how it turned out!

We will all look forward to your creations for this new challenge - get creating!!!!

I'm also entering this in the current "Dream in Darkness" challenge for April!!

Easter Bunnies.....

April 1st 2018

A couple of creations using new digis available at Vera Lane Studio "Doodle Bunnies" - just too cute - I don't know what it is but I always love rabbit images!!

This first creation is a page in my new journal - a smaller paged journal than what I normally work in but the size is becoming my fav to work in and this little book so far only has Vera Lane Studio images in it so I am thinking it will be used solely for VLS digis! Background is gesso, torn book pages and strips of washi tape. I printed the bunny on an encyclopaedia page (easter wording torn from the page I printed on) and coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut, added a few embellishments and the page is done!

Another of the bunnies printed on the book page and also coloured with pastel pencils. I added this to an index card I printed with wood look digital paper and flowers and wording also from Vera Lane Studio digi sets - I added some hessian type fibre for the bunny to sit on and adhered a paper flower - I really love the look of this one and the earthy tones!

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend!
