Something fishy going on here.........
Nearly time for the new challenge theme at the
Blank Page Muse Blog and this time our theme is the "Let's Go To The Beach" - fab theme for those where it's Summer but also great for me here in Oz - makes me feel a bit warmer as it's Winter here LOL!
I've made some Artist Trading coins which are all the rage at the moment and below is a quick step by step pictorial for you on how I made them:
Firstly I cut out my 2.5 inch circles - I had a ribbon role with a cardboard top and bottom which were 2.5 inches round so I used one as a template. And I used some recycled cardboard on hand from a carton of beer of all things LOL which I used to cut my circles from.
I added a layer of Gesso with a spatula to have a base for colouring them.
Next I used Gelatos in various colours to colour over the Gesso backgrounds - I coloured them, spritzed with water and used my finger to blend the colour.
Once dry I stamped with
Blank Page Muse Stamps and black Archival ink. I used various "sea" themed stamps including an anchor and 2 sea shells - all available at the store either individually or as part of the nautical themed sets.
I printed some collage images - couldn't resist using these quirky fishy themed kids from
Lisa's Altered Art - they are perfect!!!!
I fussy cut the collage images and adhered to the coin bases with a piece of muslin cloth.
Next I added embossing fluid to the edges of all the coins and "rolled" in Black enamel embossing powder and heated - love the effect and the black is so glossy!
And all done - love how they turned out!
Here's where you can find Blank Page Muse
I'm also linking these creations up at the following challenges:
Also at the
2 Crafty Critter Crazies - where you have to add a critter to your creation which does include critters with fins!!!
