Mythical Creatures....

July 31st 2014
A great  "Mythical Creatures" Challenge at the Wicked Wednesday Blog for this week and a wonderful sponsor "Aurora Wings" - beautiful images for us to create with and for you to have the chance to win! so let's see your entries for this week!

I coloured the seahorse image with Copic Markers then covered with embossing fluid and embossed with UTEE plus some tiny beads. I cut some seahorses on my Cameo and added an anchor charm to finish off this underwater scene.

Bombshell "Stars & Stripes" Blog Hop....

July 30th 2014
If you are doing the Bombshell Blog Hop you should have come to me from:
Marnie: http://www.papertivity.blogspot.com
And then you will head over to:
Kim: http://www.craftypinkanchor.blogspot.com

At last I've been able to catch up on everything and join this month's Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop with a great theme of "Stars & Stripes" - and of course I am an Aussie so here's my "interpretation" of using stars & stripes in my creation:

I've used the main image from the "Butterfly Queen" Stamp Set - isn't she a real "bombshell" babe? She has been coloured with Copic Markers to co-ordinate with the patterned papers from the Gecko Galz "Life's a Circus" set. These papers are just perfect with the stars & stripes patterns and I love the colours! I used my new Silhouette to cut the stars from black card.

Here's the hop list but if you get lost just visit the Bombshell Blog to get back on track! And enjoy all the wonderful creations along the way!

Glitz & Glamour...

July 29th 2014

A sparkly challenge for you at The Sailing Pineapple Blog this week - we want to see "Glitz & Glamour"!!!!! I've used "Lily" - a very glamorous poodle - LOL!!!

Background papers are from Shery K Designs Etsy Store - I thought the "Cacao" colours were a good match with the black & pink image and accessories! The "Ladies Accessories" were cut on my Cameo Silhouette and were purchased from the Silhouette Store - I bought them to "accessorise" this card - I thought they were just perfect for this prissy poodle!!

I added some glitter glue to Lily's crown, her tail & the perfume bottle for some sparkle and I added some heart shaped gems to the card for even more glitz!

Can't wait to see the entries this week!

Stampotique Xmas in July!

July 25th 2014

"Aark! The Herald Angels Sing...."

This week's challenge at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog is "Xmas in July" [SDC #157] - seems to be a popular theme at the moment - is that a hint that half the year is over and xmas is coming???????

I've used a somewhat scary angel from Stampotique "Daniel's Tree Topper" and as you will notice I change "Hark" to "Aark!!" - you know like crows go "aark aark" - my humour - supposed to be funny - you may or may not "get" it LOL!!!

Background for both pages is acrylic paint - I used a little sponge roller to apply the paint - both red & then blotches of yellow - love to get painty & inky fingers!

I used some texture paste & a stencil down one side of my first page and then covered with gold UTEE with a bit of glitter added. I used a Tim Holtz textures stamp to make the "lines" at the top and the bottom of each page and some of the lines I embossed with gold embossing powder. The first page has 3 angels printed, coloured & fussy cut then adhered to the page - I also added some glitter to the wings & dress.

On the second page I used letter stamps to spell "December" down the side of the page, more of the texture stamp & embossing and angels printed directly to the page in black.

To finish off I added some little gold star gems for even more glitz! I have to say that I really love this 2 page spread!

Now I am also entering these pages in the current "Sparkle N Sprinkle" Creative Challenge which is always anything goes using, glitter, embossing powder and/or flocking - I've certainly used lots of embossing powder and even put some polysparkle glitter in with the gold UTEE!!

Paper Artsy Inspired Journal Page....

July 24th 2014

Decided to have a "play" today and follow the tutorial by Kate Yetter at the Paper Artsy Site! I like the effect - it's a different page type to what I would normally do - those of you who know me know I don't cope well with "white space" so this was a bit difficult but the tutorial inspired me to have a go and try not to fill the whole page LOL!!!

Overall I'm fairly happy with the result - think this is one sort of style I could keep "playing" with for different results.

I do not know who's company the stamped dress form image is from as I got it so many years ago that I have no record so if anyone can "enlighten" me I would appreciate it!

I've linked my page up to the Paperartsy Challenge Page for this week.

Cute as a Button

July 23rd 2014
A cute new challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog this week - "Cute as a Button" & as you can see from the image on my ATC our sponsor is Heather Ellis - she has the cutest designs - great prices too - so check out her Etsy Store and join our challenge!

Xmas in July...

July 22nd 2014

At The Sailing Pineapple Blog we couldn't resist having a "Xmas in July" Challenge - so this week's challenge is just that except we have a twist and that is to use something non-traditional on your creation ie. don't use green & red, or use an image which is NOT a xmas themed image like the little hobbit girl I have used, use pastel colours or pink & purple - whatever is non traditionally xmas!!

I added a cut out (using my Cameo Silhouette) xmas hat to this Hobbit Girl image from The Sailing Pineapple to turn her into an image for my xmas card! I also cut the layered shape with my Silhouette and used great digital papers from Yellow Lemons Etsy Store.

I am also entering this card in the My Sheri Crafts Christmas in July Challenge which requires lots of layers! And the Craft Your Passions Challenges Blog also has a Christmas in July Challenge so I am entering there as well!

Bombshell Hula Girl

July 21st 2014

I haven't played with my Bombshell Stamps for far too long so I decided to join 2 of the July challenges at the Bombshell Blog! I've combined Jenn's "Ms July" Sun, Surf & Sand Challenge with the July Sketch Challenge - 2 birds with 1 stone LOL!!!

I've used images from the Bombshell  "Hula Girl" Stamp Set along with cut outs done with my new Silhouette which I am still playing with and learning how to use!!

Exciting New Discoveries....

July 20th 2014

Another journal page! I'm having fun with my journal so I figure keep on creating!

So this page is for the current Little Miss Muffet "Anything Goes" Challenge - I've used "Luna Bitterfrost Steampunk Rocks" Digital Image - love this cute but punky design!

For the background I used Dylusions Ink Sprays - as you can imagine I now have coloured fingers! I had some floral stamps from the cheap shop which I stamped around the edge and resprayed with ink to soften the look - I also used the stamps on the cut out numbers as well as ink sprays. I cut the numbers with my new Silhouette which I am still learning to use! Image coloured with Copic Markers. I added some die cut cogs. Quote stamp is from a Tim Holtz stamp set.

This page was also created with the Week 28 Journal 52 Prompt in mind - "Technology". I've said before I am way behind on the Journal 52 prompts but when I can I create something using one of the many prompts I have to catch up on!

You know when I started making this page I had a whole other colour scheme in mind and another LMM image I planned to use but after I started spraying and adding more colours the whole thing changed and I had to rethink what I was doing - it was fun & creative!

Zen Tangle Card

July 19th 2014

Today I am sharing another of my Gecko Galz DT creations using a new "Zentangle" image from the set release for July. I love all the stamps in the set - LOL - I could have made cards with all of them but this was one of my favourites! The background digital papers are also new for July and are from the "La Isla Bonita" set - great papers to use for creations!!!!

I added die cut numbers cut from Kraft paper and added some muslin (my most favourite accessory LOL) along with some steampunk charms and wire swirls. Main Zentangle image was coloured with Copic Markers.

Check out the Gecko Galz Website for more inspiration from the DT using all the new products released this month!

The Earth Laughs in Flowers......

July 17th 2014

Sharing a journal page made for the Stampotique Challenge (SDC 155) Newspaper/Magazine theme. I followed Janet's idea for adding text to my page at her blog - Vera Lane Studio - I love Janet's images which I have used on this journal page available at Stampotique. Gorgeous flower f=girl image is "China Belle" and the Emerson quote is also a Janet Klein image.

I bought a Cameo Silhouette a few months ago and can you believe I only got it out of the box about a week ago - LOL - I am time poor - but I am loving it - still working it all out of course but did manage to cut the cherry blossom branch and flowers - I was very excited!!!!

Background is acrylic paint and I used Asian newspaper pieces and Janet's technique to add the text to the page - probably need some more practice with that but my first effort so I'm still happy! Image coloured with Copics and everything adhered with Gel Medium. Love getting painty and sticky fingers in the name of crafting!!!!

This page is also inspired by the Journal 52 Week 13 prompt: "How does your Garden Grow" - this is a Japanese garden in the making!

On the Farm

July 16th 2014
A new challenge for this week at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog - "On the Farm" and a great sponsor - A Day for Daisies - don't they just have the greatest images to work with!

I've used "Bunny Garden" image - so cute - I couldn't resist the carrots LOL! Digital patterned papers complete with carrot images are from Happy Hearts Studio at Etsy - I bought them especially for this ATC.

Flowery Notes...

July 15th 2014

A new challenge at The Sailing Pineapple Challenge Blog this week and the theme is "Anything BUT a Card"! I've altered a little notebook - it has been "recovered' with paper and I added 3 flower images coloured with Copics & fussy cut from The Sailing Pineapple Store. We would love to see some more entries this week so why not play along!

A Seahorse Under the Sea....

July 14th 2014

A journal page made for the Week 26 "Under the Sea" prompt at Journal 52 & it's also one of my DT Creation's for this month for Gecko Galz using the seahorse digi from the newly released set for July!

Background is Dylusions sprays plus some paint and stencilling with added mesh, muslin cloth, little "bubble" stickers and stamped wording. Seahorse image coloured with Copic Markers. I'm really happy with how this page has turned out!

Bend Over.............

July 11th 2014

My daughter needed a thank you card for a doctor & his nurses so this is what I came up with! Scary nurse image is from Just Inklined. Digital papers which are just perfect for this card are from Happy Heart Studios at Etsy.

My daughter gave them some chocolates & flowers too - they were really appreciative!  You know I couldn't believe it when they told me it was very rare that patients gave them anything these days - the world is changing (for the worse) - I know they get paid for their services but a little extra thanks isn't that hard to do - is it??????

I'm also entering this card in the current The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge which requires the use of a digital background - all the patterned papers on my card including the main background are digital papers from the Happy Heart Studios Etsy Store!

Nature Calls Journal Pages

July 8th 2014

A new "Nature Calls" themed challenge at The Sailing Pineapple Blog this week. I made a double page spread in my mini journal for this using several images from the "Just Bee Cuz Bee Hive" Stamp Set available at The Sailing Pineapple Store. We look forward to seeing your creations for this challenge!

Background is Dylusions sprays plus I used an orange ink pad to stamp over the stencil. Images coloured with Copic Markers & fussy cut then adhered to the page.

This is also my Week 25 Journal Pages for the Journal 52 Blog Prompts - of course I am way behind with these prompts but am creating pages where I can which is the main thing!

Gecko Galz + With Wild Abandon

July 4th 2014

As you know each month Gecko Galz teams up with a "complimentary" company to do a cross promotion. This month we have teamed up with the  "With Wild Abandon" Etsy Store!

For my card I used papers from With Wild Abandon and used my sewing machine to stitch all the layers. The main image is a new release from Gecko Galz and comes with the Petticoat Princess Collage Set - I love this very feminine image. I added some little charms and switl stickers to finish off my card.

Click here to see what the rest of the DT have created with the products this month!

Flowerful.....

July 1st 2014

Flower images are from The Sailing Pineapple Store and have been coloured with Copic Markers. Patterned papers are Digital papers from Quakasu Papers Etsy Store - there are some really gorgeous designs in this store!

I am entering my card at the new "Mixed Media Card Challenge Blog" which has a theme of a "Touch of Nature" - my card has sewing machine stitching, muslin fabric, lace flowers as well as card, paper & Copic ink colouring.
