Nearly time for the new challenge and theme at the Blank Page Muse Blog!! Who doesn't love a Black & White Theme with a "POP" of colour???? You will find lots of DT inspiration at the challenge blog - always lots of great ideas on how to use your Blank Page Muse rubber stamps! So make sure you join the hop and visit everyone!
I've used stamps from the "Oddly Appealing" set by Cathy Frailey available at the Blank Page Muse Store - I love the quirky designs in this set - perfect for tag art and journaling with mixed media!
Here's a few pics and instructions on how I created this double tag:
Firstly I used a spatula to spread a thin layer of gesso over the tags.
Then I added some torn book pages using gel medium. once dry I trimmed the overhang with scissors.
I grabbed a swirly stencil and using texture paste I covered the entire tag area.
Next - to keep with the black and white theme I sprayed the tag with dylusions ink sprays.
Next I edged the double tag with embossing liquid and sprinkled black enamel powder over, tapped off the excess and heat set - love the shine!!
Stamp your chosen images onto white cardstock with your focal colour - clearly my colour is pink - of course!!! Fussy cut the main image and cut diagonal edges around the wording and edge with the ink pad. Note: I stamped 2 of the main image and layered them for a "double" effect!
I sprayed a piece of muslin cloth with pink and arranged that under my image and wording, adhered the stamped images on top and added some matching coloured sequins to the tag along with some raffia ties at the top! I just love how it turned out!
I'm also entering this in the current "Dream in Darkness" challenge for April!!
