Godzilla!!

June 30th 2013

Wow the last day of June - who can believe we are halfway through the year!!!! Here's my creation for Week 3 of the Summer of Colour 2013. "Lime Green & Purple" is the colour combo for this week and I have my little ATC to share with you which has a fussy cut photo of my daughter (taken several year ago now) wearing a lime green & purple "Godzilla" dance costume - this was for an amazing dance routine her troupe did - it was quite striking to watch! So it was perfect to create with the fussy cut photo for this weeks challenge! The photo probably doesnt really do the costume justice as it was sprkly shimmery lycra with glossy purple patches!

Walking Down the Aisle...

June 29th 2013

A reminder post for our current challenge at Wicked Wednesday "June Wedding". For this ATC I have used a beautiful image from Michelle Perkett - she has an Art Deco look to her. Background image is from Gecko Galz.

Bryn & Tup

June 28th 2013

I loved creating with this great image from Maigan Lynn - available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - it's called "Bryn & Tup" - I love the Steampunk "feel" of this image and it was great to colour with all the background detail!

I used my distressing tool to rough up the edges of the background paper and the image. Cog/gear die cuts and the Happy die cut were coloured with various inks and I added the steampunk style charm to finish it off! Background digital paper is from Archangel Etsy Store.

Wedded Cherries???

June 27th 2013

A fun challenge for this week at Wicked Wednesday - "June Wedding" - I always love wedding themes so I can't wait to see our entries for this challenge! We have 2 Cute Ink as our sponsor for this challenge and they were kind enough to provide some images for the DT to work with - aren't these couple of cherries cute??

Bombshell Textures & Layers!

June 26th 2013

Yes time for another Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop and the theme for this hop is "Texture & Layers"! I recently bought a new stamp set "Butterfly Queen" and had a great time creating this card for the hop! Patterned papers are from a 6 x 6 Bo Bunny Pad I have had for quote some time but the colours were perfect for what I wanted so I layered them on the card & used mounting tape for the Bombshell Babe! I added texture with the mesh, muslin and dry embossing, some braid & charms.

The next stop on the hop is Kelli & if you get lost just head to the Bombshell Blog for the whole list!

I'm also entering this at the Cards Galore Blog as I used their monthly sektch to layout this card!

Bombshell Angel

June 25th 2013

A reminder for my "Be Clear" Challenge at Bombshell Stamps - all details at the blog - we would love to see what you can create with acetate or vellum! My card today uses the "Acrylic Smash" Technique which you can find here at Splitcoast Stampers!

This card uses stamps from the Bombshell Angel Set and also Rose's Portrait Set - great stamps!!!

Tim Holtz June Tag

June 24th 2013

Finally got my June Tag done using Tim's instructions at his blog - I really enjoyed this technique! Image is a digital stamp from Gecko Galz. Background quote stamp is one I've had for a long time! As usual I improvised and went with what I had on hand and I'm really happy with how it turned out - has quite a masculine feel to it!

Adorable Fairy!

June 23rd 2013

Here's my entry for the current Garden Fairy Challenge at the Luna Girl Challenge Blog - a flowery card using images from Paper Imagery Designs. Isn't this little baby fairy in his garden pot so cute?

Triple Stamped Cards

June 22nd 2013

I tried a fun new technique for these new digi images from Gecko Galz June Products - Triple Stamping - instructions can be found here at the Splitcoast Stampers Site. It's a bit harder using digi stamps rather than rubber stamps but have some patience and all will turn out LOL!

As you can see I made a Xmas themed card and a "Beauty" card with an added Gecko Galz collage image! This was a fun technique and one I will use again - I think they look very effective!

She's Wonderful...

June 21st 2013

Here's my card creation for QKD this week - a gorgeous sea themed mermaid named "Nixie" by artist Nora Blansett - this image is so calm and peaceful and I just love the colour scheme I went with. Image is coloured with Copic Markers of course! More details at the QKD Blog so pop over and see what everyone else has been up to as well!

I used this months sketch from the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog for my card so am entering it in their challenge!

She Sells Sea Shells...

June 20th 2013

Another post for today! I've been madly working on my June Pages for The Kathryn Wheel Calendar Challenge but because I used some gorgeous mermaid images from Dilly Beans I needed to get the pages finished asap to enter at the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog for their "Under The Sea" Challenge and LOL I have made it with 9 hours left!!!

I have been admiring these mermaid images for some time so I finally purchased them last night and I decided that I wanted to also use my pages for the "Summer of Colour" Challenge for this week with the colour combo "Orange & Hot Pink" - wow I had so much fun with these great vibrant colours and I'm sure somehwere under the sea these beautiful colours would be shining!!!

Background is paint in orange & pink of course with some white highlights. I cut the little numbers for each day of the week from a card sheet I have had for ages, Images are coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut and a bit of my favourtie sticky mesh stuff added! Sorry about all the pictures - I just couldn't resist!!

A peaceful challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week with the theme being "Symbols of Peace" and our sponsor is Digi Darla. I've used a gorgeous gal from Digi Darla on my ATC. Can't wait to see what ATC creations we get for this weeks challenge!

I'd Like to be Under the Sea...

June 13th 2013

Today I am sharing a new Journal Page made for Queen Kat Designs using a fabulous digi image from Maigan Lynn! The journal background has been sprayed with shades of green Fireworks Ink, sponged with co-ordinating dye inks, stencilled with a Dylusions stencil, had some "bling" added along with my trusty tea dyed muslin & that great sticky mesh the builder left at my house LOL!! I used some alphabet stamps to add the wrding to the great Beatles song "Octopus's Garden" for a bit of fun! The "Mad Fancy" Mermaid image has been coloured with Copic Markers. I really love these wonderful designs from Maigan and have nearly finished colouring another of her images so will get creating with that as well!

This creation is also for the new Summer of Colour Challenge for 2013 which started this week - this year everyone is "voting" for the colour combination each week which is a bit of fun - this weeks vote is "Citron Green & Turquoise" - now I think I'm pretty close with these greens and turquoise shades! I was really good last year and managed to enter each week so I'm hoping to keep up the same good work this year & I can't wait to see what the colour combo is for next week!

Two Little Dickie Birds...

June 12th 2013

What a fun challenge we have this week at Wicked Wednesday - "Birds, Eggs & Nests" - I love this theme - I think birds and birdcages are always in "fashion"!! And we are lucky to have Jellypark as our sponsor for this challenge - I've used one of their gorgeous images on my ATC. I couldn't resist printing the nursery rhyme as the background print - such a cute rhyme and matched these two birds in their cage!

Art Deco Style

June 12th 2013

Today I am sharing a couple of simple cards made using new products from Gecko Galz - the images and patterned papers are all from the new June releases - they are great! I photographed them with some of my old tin collection! Images are called "The Cat's Meow" and there are 2 amazing pages of these stylish women! Patterned papers are from the "Gatsby" pack - perfect timing for the new movie out!!

A quick reminder post for our Graveyards & Tombstones Challenge at Wicked Wednesday. I've made this card for the new Sketch challenge over at the Bombshell Stamps Blog. Stamps used on my card are from the "Rose's Portrait" Set - this set would have to be my favourite Bombshell Set - I used it for my "Be Clear" Challenge as Guest Designer for June and couldn't resist using it again to join in with the  new sketch challenge! We would love to see what you can do!

Dancing in the Garden Fairies!

June 5th 2013

Some great new release digi stamps from Angie Delarie - Dancing in the Garden Images! These were so much fun to create with!

Firstly I made a little page in my mini journal with the gorgeous little heart fairy - she has been coloured with Copics and adhered to my painted page. The background leafy stamp is from a set of stamps from Dylusions and the wording are from a little alphabet stamp I have had for years.

My second creation is in my "normal" journal - again I did a painted background and used 2 other Dylusions stamps and then printed the littel quote and fairy images onto tissue paper and glued to the page with Mod Podge - I love the colours of this!

Make sure you visit Angie's Blog to check out what the rest of the DT have done with these images - I love it that everyone always does something different - lots of inspiration!
