Playing along with Journal 52 again this year - LOL didn't get many done last year but have made a start  this year and will see how I go - won't get every week done but will do what I can! Main digi image is from SLS Lines - one of my fav digi stamp companies!!! Click here to visit the store!!

So I did both prompts for Week 1 at Journal 52 - last week I shared my "Relax" page and this is the alternate prompt page "Strange/Odd" word - and I went with "Chimerical" which means whimsical, fantastical, quirky etc. and was just perfect for this image and the quirky fish (collage images from Freubels Freebies).

Loved making this mixed media page with paint, stencils, stamps and the images. Just love to create quirky!!!

New For You.....

Time for the first challenge of 2016 at the Spellbinding Stamps Blog!! Theme of "New For You" - I'm sure you all received some sort of crafty goodness for xmas???? Let's see your new products, technique, images, stamps etc. OR get to the store and grab a new Nikki Burnette image to join the challenge!!

I've created a journal page with a new image to me!! "Astrina" another of Nikki's amazing images available at her Etsy Store! I also used some new "gems" I received in a crafty Kris Kringle package at my stamp groups's xmas breakfast - they were perfect to add some sparkle to this page!

Sharing my first January creation as Guest Designer at Karleigh Sue! I've used images from the new January Colouring Club pack available at the store - you get so many images in this pack it is well worth the money - great value!!!

Journal page background is paint wiped over with a baby wipe to cover all the page evenly and then white paint and The Crafters Workshop "Mini Mod Spirals" stencil. All images coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut and adhered to page along with some bits of muslin cloth. The RELAX was from a pack of stickers I had in my stash.

This is also one of my pages for the Journal 52 Challenge - Week 1 theme - Word of the Year -I chose "Relax" obviously!!!

Big Love.....

As mentioned yesterday I am sharing another creation using one of the new release images from Sandra Caldwell "Big Love" - available here in the Etsy Store.

Journal background is fairly CAS style which is unusual for me - I has excess ink on a Tim Holtz Rays stencil and blotted it off on this page so all I added was the fussy cut elephant and stamped the lettering. And I have to say I keep typing 2015 instead of 2016 so this page relates to me!!

Gardening Gal!

New images are always being released in Sandra's Etsy Store!! and today I am sharing "Gardening Gal" which I have used on a journal page! this is also my forst post as a member of Sandra's Design Team - so excited to have been asked to join - I've been a fan of her images since I was on the Queen Kat DT!! So you will be seeing lots of posts featuring her images!!

I based my page/got the inspiration for my page from this Youtube video by Betty Franks Krause : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rhZazWit2I. I had great fun with paint, texture paste and stencilling!

I hate my messy handwriting but did it anyway!! Image coloured with Pastel Pencils and fussy cut.

So many quirky designs to create with in Sandra's store - I never get sick of colouring and creating with them! I have another to share tomorrow!

These ATC's were made for a Stampotique Tatttered/Shabby ATC challenge during 2015 at the Stampotique Facebook Group! I love Stampotique stamps - lots of quirky designs!

 

I'm really happy with how these came out and the recipients liked them too which is always a bonus!

Singing in the Rain....

It's certainly not raining here - it's the opposite!

This is a journal page I made last year using a bird digi from Some Odd Girl . Background is acrylic paint with some Tim Holtz tissue paper added. I used a credit card and white paint to try and make "rain". Digi coloured with Copic markers and I perched them on a chipboard branch then added the letters for "Singing in the Rain"!
