Red, White & Blue + More Spirelli!!!

As you can see the new challenge at the CS Designs Challenge Blog is "Red, White & Blue".

I've combined some of the great digi designs at CS Designs with the Manual Cut Spirelli Kit I have been playing around with over the weekend - also from CS Designs. There are several different "shape" patterns in this great kit Chris has set up which I will be experimenting with and showing on my blog in the coming weeks so keep checking back to see some great spirelli designs - these are really quite addictive and really do look effective when they are finished!! I've made two cards for this challenge as I was having so much fun with the Spirelli patterns and my embroidery threads that I got carried away LOL!

Both cards use the "Fancy Square" pattern which has been printed in 2 sizes and I've done two different "spirelli" wrapping patterns with the thread for contrast.

This first card uses one of Chris' "Arty Expression" designs and I have embossed the red background with a 'star' folder and then rubbed a white ink pad over it to 'highlight' the stars - I love the look of this! The "Reach for the Stars" sentiment can be found at the CS Designs store. I am also entering this challenge over at Vicki's Blog - The Cheerful Stamp Pad - in her 'favourtie background' challenge as I've made my background paper for this card.

This second card uses the 'face' from the "Charisma Montage" digi and I have mounted the spirelli and image onto a great patterned paper which I thought matched the colour theme perfectly. The "believe" sentiment is also available at CS Designs and I have printed this directly onto the patterned paper.

Both cards 'qualify' for the new challenge at The Pink Elephant Blog as they also have a Red, White & Blue theme! And the Quirky Crafts Challenge this week is for NO patterened papers - make your own so the first card with the embossed background fits in here! My second card also uses 3 items from the new 'itinerary' at the Desert Islands Crafts Challenge Blog - copics (Charisma has been coloured), nesting dies (the spirelli shapes are the same just different sizes) and pop dots (foam pads) to mount the layers of Spirelli! Michelle Perkett Studio Ribbon & Lace Challenge

As you can see from the title the new challenge at the Michelle Perkett Studio Design Challenge Blog is "Ribbon & Lace". This is my first card as a member of Michelle's Design Team - so it's very exciting and I hope you like what I have done! Make sure you visit the challenge blog to see what the other team members have created for the theme and enter the challenge yourself and have the chance to win an image from Michelle's Store!
I have used the "Oh Happy Spring" digi image from Michelle's Shop - cute little bunny isn't it? - along with some Bazzill cardstock and fancy lace.

Here is a close up of the ribbon weaving I did - believe me it was very fiddly but I persevered and am really happy with how it came out. I also made the ribbon flower/bow - I was playing around and that was what I ended up with!

The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog have a "Spring Time" theme challenge currently running and I think this fits perfectly!
The Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog have a "Welcome Little One" theme this week and as I plan to use this as a "birth" card for my cousin who is having a little girl at the end of the month I thought it appropriate to enter.
The Creative Belli Blog have an animal theme challenge so my little bunny has also been entered here!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Everyone - Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I would like to share something I made especially to post today. I've used one of the Expressive Hearts Digi Stamps from CS Designs - Expressive Heart 3. I love these gorgeous little hearts - they are so great to work with and there are endless possibilities for what you can make with them.

For this hanging ornament I have used calico fabric, some little fabric flower embellishments and a little 'love' charm as well as my copics to colour the hair, eyes and lips plus ribbon and embroidery thread to finish the hanger plus a little bit of 'stuffing' to give it some dimension. I hope you like it!
The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog has a "Be My Valentine" theme this week so I have entered my little hanger! And Gingersnap Creations have a challenge running which requires the use of a "charm" on your entry so I think my little "Love" charm hanging at the bottom qualifies!

Red, Brown & Pink!!!

Over at The Pink Elephant Challenge they have just announced their new swap which is to use the colours red, brown & pink - what a great colour combination! I love pink and I have just been starting to use more reds. I've used "Hildie" again from the range by CS Designs - she's just so cute - I love her hairdo! Make sure you check out Chris' designs they are really unique.
For this card I've used bazzil card (of course - I love the texture), patterned papers yet again from my little Crate Paper 6 x 6 pad Restoration Collection, some paper flowers with coloured brads, some rub on little flowers, a little charm which is hard to read in the photo but says "delight", a spellbinder die cut/embossed butterfly and some fibres with a couple of little butterfly charms tied on. I was really happy with how the card turned out with all those elements!

Baby Card

I had to make a "Celebration" card for a swap I am in so I decided on a Baby Card using a Bugaboo Digi Stamp. I've used the Sketch from Friday Sketchers to assemble my card and have used the colour scheme for The Pink Elephant Challenge - so I've combined 3 requirements into one card!
