Inspire Your Heart with Art Day......

January 31st 2015

We're having a Link Up Party at the Unruly Paperarts Site for "Inspire your Heart with Art Day" - there are a few little "stipulations" so make sure you read the post before linking up! Let's see your creations to celebrate this day!! I've made this very pin tag - pink is one of my favourite colours to colour and create with and I'm a big dog lover so this JessicaLynnOriginal stamp was just the perfect match and I love to cut with my Silhouette (the "woof") so overall this tag combined lots of my favourite things to use when I create and "inspire my heart"!!!!!

Now I'm also linking this up to the Tag Along Challenge Blog because they just happen to have a "Think Pink" theme this week - perfect!!!

Love the range of quirky and not so "normal" images available at SLS Lines - just perfect for me to create with!!

It's Australia Day & Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree!!!!!!!!

January 26th 2015

Happy Australia Day to all my "Aussie" friends!

I'm sharing some tag art creations using a great Kookaburra digi designed especially for me by Jessica at JessicaLynnOriginal - lucky me to have Jessica design this for me to create with!!!!!

I printed direct to the tag through my printer and added distress inks and some stamped texture to the tags.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra, gay your life must be!

APC Week 16!

January 25th 2015

I've joined Claudine's Altered Playing Card Challenge a little late so as well as doing each new week I'm also working backwards to try and "catch up" LOL!! You can see everyone's creations at the FB Group!

I've used gorgeous dog stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal - of course!! This first card uses one of the images from the "Pit Bull" stamp set which is fairly new in store - it's a great set - I've used several of the stamps recently! Sentiment is a separate stamp also from the JessicaLynnOriginal store.

This second card uses a mini order Collie stamp which you can also find in the dog section at JLO. The letter stamps were some I've had for years - they are very handy for wording and sentiments.

I loved the background technique for these - the tissue paper is from the Tim Holtz range. So remember to check out Claudine's Blog for all the details of the APC Challenge!

She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini........

January 24th 2014
So who doesn't remember the song of my blog post title????? Love it - great fun and it inspired my journal page!

I just couldn't resist when Jessica at JessicaLynnOriginal gave the DT this image to play with!!! Absolutely perfect for the song - although I don't think the song was about an "owl" dressed on a polka do bikini but artistic licence used here LOL!!

Background was Dylusions spray ink. I used a polka dot stencil cut on my Silhouette, plus some paint dragged with a credit card, few highlights of black paint and pen and stamped wording and we have a fun journal page!

Make sure you check out the JessicaLynnOriginal Store for all the great new release and pre-release stamp sets - some amazing ones coming out.......

Jasmine Becket-Griffith Set of Cards

January 23rd 2015

A set of 3 cards using Jasmine Becket-Griffith stamps available at the JessicaLynnOriginal Store. I love Jasmine's art and Jessica does an amazing job to draw them as stamps!

I've tried to stick with a black & kraft colour theme and match the Silhouette cut backgrounds to the theme of each stamp, along with the patterned papers & embellishments! I'm really happy with how they turned out.

It's all Pink, Black & White.....

January 22nd 2015
You just have to love this colour challenge and great sponsor this week at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog!

This week as you can see the colour theme is pink, black & white - I just love this colour combo! And our sponsor - a new one for 2015 - is Ppinky's Doll Art - and you can find their gorgeous images at Etsy! If you have a Ppinky image why not use that to play along otherwise grab any image and get colouring!

Some Odd Girl 5th Birthday....

January 21st 2015

I'm joining the 5th B'day at the Some Odd Girl Blog and linking my card up! I've created this b'day card and followed the specifications to have "5" of something on my card - can you see what 5 things I have?? LOL!!

I have put "5" pearls on my card. I also couldn't resist adding some sparkle. Background flower overlay and happy birthday wording cut on my Silhouette. I just love this gorgeous SOG digi image from the store!

Happy Birthday to Some Odd Girl! SOG digis were some of the very first I bought when I "discovered" digis!

The Old Gumbie Cat.... T.S. Eliot

January 20th 2015

Still time to play along at the Fitztown Challenge Blog - easy theme "Anything Goes" with added "twist" if you want to add patterned paper - my little kitty is standing on a strip of patterned paper!! I'm Guest Designer there this month and next month so would love to see your creations and a chance to win some images!!

I'm a lover of TS Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" so my page has been named for one of the poems and I handwrote some of the poem on my page!

Journal 52 Week 2: Just Be

January 18th 2015

So far I am keeping up relatively well at Journal 52 - LOL we are only at Week 3 and I actually have the first 2 weeks done!

Theme for Week 2 "Just Be" - couldn't resist using this great "Old Maid Bee" digi from Sandra Caldwell - love Sandra's images - am planning to use another of her digis for my Week 3 Journal 52 page as well!

I Gessoed the background and added some texture paste through a stencil then sprayed Dylusions Inks, added some scrap paper & tissue paper, muslin, my page was ready to add my image which I mounted with mounting tape and then the bee and wording were cut on my Silhouette. Very happy with the result.

On to week 3 now before I get too far behind ha ha!!!!

SLS Lines New Challenge Blog...

January 15th 2015

I came across SLS Lines Stamps a little while ago whilst hunting around on Etsy - one of my favourite "haunts" and I saw they have a great new Challenge Blog and for those interested they are currently having a DT Call and you can find all the details at the blog. They really have some great quirky and not the norm images - perfect for what I like to create with!

I had made this card with a SLS Lines digi for my daughter's 21st birthday which was Xmas Eve and have been waiting for their new challenge theme to see if it just might fit!!! Well the new challenge theme is "Portrait" and I think this card is just perfect!

I was really happy with the background look with the spritzed inks dribbling down the page. I really only "basically" coloured the image because I didn't think it needed to be too busy with the style of card. Added a group of hearts cut on the Silhouette, bit of muslin fabric, tulle flower, little "made with love" heart charm and "21" numbers in the top corner to finish off! Needless to say my daughter loved it and it's still on "display" on the cupboard!

I am also entering this card in the current challenge at the Mixed Media Card Blog!

Girly Stuff.....

January 14th 2015
Just love this weeks new challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog! the theme is "Girly Stuff" but more importantly Vera Lane Studio is our wonderful sponsor!!! I'm a big fan of Janet's digis so what a great excuse to create with them!!!

I've made 2 ATC's for this week. Background on the above image is from Gecko Galz and background on image below was made by me with spray inks - thought is was perfect for the little artist gal!

We would love to see what you create this week!

Something to Crow About....

January 12th 2015

I've been following the Tag Along Blog for awhile but haven't played so this is my first time playing! The theme for the week is to use washi tape. I've used black & white coloured washi from a set of 3 I bought some time ago. Love the effect of striping it all over the background.

Image is Brentwood Owl of course - from JessicaLynnOriginal - this is a fantastic set - includes the crow and other stamps - "Voodoo Halloween Crow Set" - you really need to check it out here. Wording I did myself on the computer and cut out. Couldn't resist sitting the crow in Brentwood's hat LOL!! Had fun making this!

Journal 52 Week 1: Pathways

January 11th 2015

Here's my Week 1 page for the Journal 52 Prompt of "Pathways" - I am going to try to do a few more weeks of the Journal 52 than what I did last year - so we'll see how that goes!!!

Images are from Vera Lane Studio - just love these quirky images!

Background is Dylusions spray inks and I made a stencil on my Silhouette of a brick/path and used on the background too. I even used my own handwriting to write the quote - I really don't like my handwriting so maybe that's something else I can work on this year!!!

All Dressed Up Colour Challenge at Wicked Wednesday....

January 7th 2015

A fun colour palette challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog for this week so pop over and check it out! Great sponsor - All Dressed Up - such cute images to play with!

We look forward to seeing your ATC's this week!

Guest Designer at the Fitztown Challenge Blog!

January 6th 2015

For the next 2 months I am lucky enough to be a Guest Designer at the Fitztown Challenge Blog! they have a great range of digi stamps to pick from and my journal page today uses LE1 - check out their store!

As you can see I've made a journal page - background Dylusions Sprays and stencil - which I made myself of course with my Silhouette! Image coloured with Copic Markers. Bee and wording also cut on the Silhouette.

The theme for this month of January is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of using Patterned Paper - my little cut out Bee has die cut behind the wings and the "None of your Beeswax" cut out was cut with the same patterned paper as the bees wings but I added some ink sprays to it to darken it up a bit.

Check back later in the month for a "reminder" post where I will share another journal page for the challenge inspiration!
