Dreaming of a Rainbow...

April 28th 2017

A "Rainbow" ATC using one of the gorgeous Journal Gals from the Vera Lane Studio Journal Faces Digi Set! Background is a paint chip sample - I'm hoping to find some more like this - they had lots of little coloured samples on the larger size background - great for cutting to ATC size!

Digi image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut. I used coloured Posca pens to edge the atc and to add coloured lines around some of the purple squares. I ink sprayed a scrap of muslin and added to the card with the digi and computer generated wording!

I'm entering this in the current Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge where Vera Lane Studio is a sponsor - theme of "Make Your Own Sunshine"!

Precious....

April 28th 2017
A quick post today to share an altered index card using a digi stamp by Sheepski Designs - available at Etsy!

I used my gelli plate to create the background on this 6 x 4 index card - I love the pattern and colours - not colours I would normally use so working outside the box! Digi stamp coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and adhered to the page. I added the "precious" sticker and some scraps of sticky ribbon as well to finish it off.

Fly with Art....

April 27th 2017

Two blue & white themed altered index cards for one of the Facebook Challenges at the Gecko Galz Group! All patterned papers and collage elements are available from Gecko Galz.

I layered the patterned papers on the cards - a great way to use up scraps and bits of odd shaped and sized papers! Waste not want not LOL!!! The women images were fussy cut and added to the cards with a couple of other collage images and scraps of muslin cloth. "Fly" & "Art" are letter stickers to finish them off!

Paradise with Some Odd Girl!

26th April 2017

I created this altered collaged index card for the current Some Odd Girl "Nothing Square" Blog Challenge!

I used a paper pack and matching elements from Kaisercraft - a perfect match for this gorgeous image "Tropical Piper" by Some Odd Girl! Image printed on watercolour paper and coloured with watercolour pencils. Added a bit of hessian and scrap of cloth. love how it turned out!

Hmm I Choose You.....

April 24th 2017
A mini pocket letter made for a "Love" themed swap for an Aussie swap group I belong to. Papers and images are a mixture of Gecko Galz and a Valentine's collage sheet by Heather Hudson.

It's always fun to make a mini pocket letter - a bit quicker to make 3 ATC inserts than the full sheet of nine!! I used black card for the ATC bases and then cut patterned tags from the sheet by Heather to fit slightly smaller than the base and used my sewing machine to attach them. I added Heart/Love Bingo cards by Gecko Galz and the stunning Woman also by Gecko Galz (from the Tattooed Women Collage Set). A bit of muslin, paper clip, charm and string to finish it all off! I love the colour tones and how it all turned out. Of course the back pockets were filled with a tea bag and extra goodies for the recipient!

3 Words: Little Black Dress

April 23rd 2017

"Miss Dee" would have to be one of my most favourite characters from Vera Lane Studio!!! she can be creepy and dark or as you can see today she is "Elegant" in fact "E is for Elegant" - which is the current challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Blog!!!!

Page background was gessoed first and then I used red & black ink sprays to make "dribbles" down the page. I added lace & braid and then secured t all with my sewing machine. Miss Dee was coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut - notice I added some ruby earrings LOL!!! I stamped the "3 words: little black dress" with black ink and some alphabet stamps I found in my stash! I am really happy with how this page came out and Miss Dee has been waiting for a special occasion to come out and the new "Elegant" challenge was the perfect reason to get dressed up!

Tall Town.......

April 22nd 2017
A new "Tall Town" set of digis was released at the start of the week by Janet at Vera Lane Studio!

I made very long bookmarks!! For the background I used a brayer and acrylic paint on cardstock and cut to size and mounted on tan coloured card. Tall houses were coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut. Wording digis also by Vera Lane Studio were printed on kraft cloured paper and adhered to the tops of the bookmarks along with some muslin cloth scraps. To finish off I added some string to punched holes at the top of each.

These digis mix and match perfectly with all the other quirky and fun characters available at Vera Lane Studio!!

MHK Designs...more Monthly Challenge Inspiration....

April 20th 2017
Sharing another creation I made as Guest Designer for the current monthly inspiration challenge at the MHK Blog! I've used digis from the "Butterfly Wisdom" Set and a strip of digi patterned paper from the "Worn & Weathered Pink" paper set all available at Mynn's Etsy Store!

As you can see I've worked in my black paged journal, used texture paste/stencil and pink ink spray on the background along with a strip of patterned paper, some little heart & swirl stickers from a 3d pack I have and scrap of muslin cloth. Butterfly digis and the wording from the digi set were printed onto a piece of paper I had also printed from the Worn & Weathered paper set so the background is patterned and soft.

I love how this turned out - nice and soft but still textured and also inspired by the inspiration photo for the month! Hope you can join in!

Curioser and Curioser...

April 18th 2017
A Gecko Galz creation using a digi from the "Mad Hatter's Stamp Set"!

I am entering this at the Gecko Galz Blog for their April "Alice's Tea Party" Customer Challenge. It is also entered at the Gecko Galz Facebook Group for the April "Curioser and Curioser" Challenge!

Index card background was done with the card and my gelli plate - always love the effects the gelli plate gives! Image printed on card and coloured with watercolours and fussy cut. I added a corner charm, muslin cloth, tiny paper doiley, braid and the "hear ye" lettering! Always fun to create an "Alice" themed item!

A Spring in My Step.....

April 17th 2017
Another Vera Lane Studio bunny from the "Two Hares Digi Stamp Set" (showed the other bunny on my blog on Friday). The little Easter Bonnet was added to the digi - just love that VLS digis are in png format - so easy to mix and match the characters and accessories!

Journal page background was done with paint and Gelli Plate - love the colours and patterns and how this turned out! It's not Spring here in fact it's Autumn but this page makes it feel like Spring!

Digi stamp coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut - added to the page with some raffia bits and paper flowers. Wording was computer generated and printed on kraft coloured paper.

A fun mixed media journal page for my first creation on Rick St Dennis' Craft EDT!!! I've used one of his amazing digis available at his Zibbet Store "Mermaid in a Tea Cup". All of Rick's digis and merchandise can be found at Zibbet now and not at Etsy.

Background is ink sprays and texture paste/stencil plus the addition of muslin and tea bag tags LOL! Image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut! Love this image and I love to drink tea!

Winged Things....

April 15th 2017
This week at the Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group we have been having a "Winged Things" theme for all of our creations! I've made several creation for this theme - 2 of them are below. All digis are available at the Etsy Store.

Firstly an altered index card using "Birdie" from the Floral Park Range of digis by Janet - she's just too cute with her bird friends and little birdhouse!

Card background is old book pages and a patterned serviette. Digis coloured with copics and fussy cut. Wording & bushes printed on kraft colour paper and all adhered to the card with some feathers!

Next is a colourful page in one of my journal using "Willow and Her Birds" plus wings from the "Wings for Things" digi set. The wings set is so perfect for adding "flight" to any of the Vera Lane Studio characters!!

Background on this page is book pages, napkins, paint, ink sprayed muslin, washi tape etc. Digi coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and I added the "fly" lettering using alphabet stickers.

Angel Bunny....

April 14th 2017
A little altered index card with a winged rabbit for Easter using digi stamps from Vera Lane Studio! The rabbit is from the "Two Hares Digital Stamp Set" and the wings from the "Wings For Things Digital Stamp Set"!! the wings set is perfect for turning any of Janet's digis into flying characters!

Index card background is covered with washi tape I found as a set on sale - love the soft colours - perfect to go with the colours I used to colour the bunny with wings.

Hope everyone enjoys the Easter Break!

A Creative Journal Gal...

April 12th 2017
One more journal page created with the gals from the Vera Lane Studio set that was released last week "Journal Faces" - fabulous to create with!

I love that these digis can be printed at a larger size - makes them great to colour - perfect for using my pastel pencils and they are also really easy to fussy cut. The set comes with some "words" too - this "Create" is one of them.

I used the back of one of my journal pages that had machine sewing on the other side so I had a great row of stitches to start the page off with, added co-ordinating serviettes and some matching paint to the background. Sprayed some muslin cloth with matching ink spray, added a few mini gold doilies, the framed word, some sparkly gems and of course the image! I love how this turned out and I've also used colours that I don't usually "play" with!!

Journalling Gals with Vera Lane Studio....

April 9th 2017

Sharing 2 journal pages today using images and words from the newly released "Journal Faces" Digi stamp set by Vera Lane Studio! I LOVE this set - great to print the pictures out larger than normal and have fun colouring them (pastel pencils) and they are so easy to fussy cut - have to love that LOL!!

Backgrounds are old book pages, napkins and printed tissue paper along with co-ordinating paint colours sponged on with a little makeup sponge. Journal words printed on paper and I added a border then cut out and adhered along with the faces.

Elenora Lynch....

April 3rd 2017

Another Vera Lane Studio creation using some of the "Dark Corner" digis - Elenora Lynch and digis from the Zombie Accessory Pack LOL!!!!

I used water colour paints, water and a brayer to cover the background of the index card and then added the coloured fussy cut digis with a little bit of hessian and the "boo" letters. I just love the quirky Dark Corner digis - I think they are great for any occasion!!!!
