"Tagged" by Love...

January 30th 2014
Some fun "love" tags using torn strip of digital papers, my sewing machine and new images from the Queen Kat Designs Store!

My first red, black & white tag has patterned papers from the Below Blink Etsy Store.

My second tag in pink, grey & black uses gorgeous patterned papers from SheryK Designs Etsy Store.

I kept these fairly flat so they could be used as bookmarks!

Let's Get Physical!

January 28th 2014

This is a birthday card I made for my Gym & Healthy Eating obsessed eldest daughter (her b'day was Xmas Eve).

I almost forgot I bought this Saturated Canary image especially to make her birthday card! The image came with the wording as well which was perfect for making the background of the card. Image was coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut.

She loved it - looks like her in her gym gear LOL!

La La Land Aussie Gift Bags

January 27th 2014

Today is a Public Holiday here in Australia - because Australia Day was yesterday (Sunday) we have an actual holiday today so I am sharing these Australian themed gift bags which although they were made as xmas gifts they are still very Australian themed!

I made these gift bags for 2 Japanese visitors who shared Christmas lunch with us. Of course I left it to the last minute to decide I was going to give them a small gift each so was madly hunting for new images and then colouring and putting them all together Xmas Eve & Xmas Morning!

Gorgeous "Marci & Luka" characters are digital stamps from La La Land - I had seen these images in rubber before but I was so excited when I saw that they were available as Digital Stamps - I snapped them straight up and got them printed.

Then of course I had no Australiana paper on hand or anything so I had to hunt the net again - I found the pre coloured gumnut frame and image from Nana Vic's Digitals - what a bonus!! And then the wooden background came from Dana Garson Design Etsy Store. So these bags are a real compilation of various images!!

I loved them and so did the Japanese guests and they also loved the Australian chocolate goodies inside!!!

Bowled Over....

January 26th 2014

A new "Your Favourite Team Colours" Challenge at the Wicked Wednesday Blog for this week! I couldn't resist using this "Lawn Bowler" image from Just Inklined - lawn owls is very popular here in Australia - more so with the older retired people. Of course I had to colour him in Green & Gold for Australia - it's actually Australia Day here today so I will have another Aussie themed post later as well!! Meanwhile we would love to see your team colours for our ATC challenge!

One Layered Love...

January 23rd 2014

Some CAS one layered cards using 3 great new release Valentine images from the Queen Kat Designs Store!

I know I always say I struggle with CAS cards but these images were perfect for a nice clean look and I printed them on Linen finish card which I think makes them look even better than just printing on smooth finish card.

Make sure you visit the Queen Kat Designs Store for all the new releases - there are so many different ones to choose & then you can make sure you are ready for Valentine's Day!

September Steampunk!

January 21st 2014

I know you will think I am mad but these are not my "Kathryn Wheel" calendar pages for September this year they are my catch up ones from last year!!! I am a couple of months behind but I am so determined to finish the 2013 year and then make a start on this year - I didn't want to give up and I think that is important!

These pages have a Steampunk theme using fabulous images from Lily at The Octopode Factory - just perfect! I added die cut steampunk gears to the background of my pages before I painted the pages. I stamped "September" down one side of a page. The quote stamp is from a Tim Holtz set and I thought it suited the little "punky" characters who all look very inventive LOL!

I went with a Steampunk theme so I could enter the Punk You Girl Challenge for this month - a great theme and one which I haven't "played" with for awhile!

The Bluebird of Happiness...

January 21st 2014

Today I am sharing a mini journal page using a new "Bluebird" stamp from the Love & Luck Bombshell Stamp Set. I made my page from the Week 1 "Up Up & Away" theme from the Journal 52 Blog's weekly prompt. I may not be able to keep up every week as Week 2 prompt is out and Week 3 prompt will be out shortly too but I will do my best!!!

I used to have little bluebird earrings when I was young - in fact I think I still have them somewhere - this is what inspired me with this page and the colours - the bird is flying up, up & away LOL! Page has been coloured & decorated with acrylic paints and stencils & you will never believe I even felt brave enough to do some handwriting - a big achievement! I really love this little page!

Another reminder for our month long "Favourite Colour Combo" challenge at the Just Some Lines Blog! I have used my favourite Black & Kraft combo again with this gorgeous "Gab" JSL image - she;s one of my favourites!

Love Served on a Platter....

January 16th 2014
I had some fun yesterday making these ATCs with some brand new images from the Queen Kat Designs Store - just released in time for Valentine's Day creations!

My first ATC uses the image to make the background and I printed it again to add to the serving platter LOL - hence the title of the post!! Collage cherub image is from Gecko Galz. Little heart charm in the corner says "Made with Love"!

My second ATC uses another new image - again I repeated the image to make the background and then printed on image larger to me the feature which I mounted on the ATC backing. I added the red flower for contrast.

Lastly I couldn't resist making a "pink" creation so I used this gorgeous woman also from Gecko Galz along with the heart background paper from the SheryK Etsy Store and printed the "I Love You" image in pink to match - very elegant and a lovely "vintage feel"!

Make sure you check out the Queen Kat Store for all the new releases this month!

Emo in Hot Pink & Black

January 11th 2014
A reminder post for our "favourite colour combo" challenge at the Just Some Lines Blog!

Last week I used my favourite combo of Kraft & Black and as you can see this week another of my favourites to create with "Hot Pink & Black" - LOL I think I have an aversion to black!!!

The patterned papers are digital papers from Gidget Designs Etsy Store and are just perfect for this card! I added a satin flower and some die cut vines to finish off.

Sophie Dares to be Different....

January 9th 2014

Sharing  my mini journal pages using a quirky design "Sophie" by Lea Barozzi - available at the Queen Kat Designs Store. I am going to try to make more time for "decorating" my journal pages this year - it's always fun to get the paint and ink out!

I used acrylic paint to cover the pages, added some glitter for sparkle& image was printed on tissue paper and adhered to the page with Modge Podge - great product!

Me & My Bear......

January 8th 2014
A new challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog - "Friendship" and a new sponsor "Crafty Sentiments". I love this cute little gal with her teddy bear!!!

We can't wait to see your "friendship" interpretations!

A Rose by Any Other Name......

January 6th 2014

For the month of January the stamp set "Rose's Portrait" is being "showcased" each Monday at the Bombshell Stamps Blog and you can purchase this set on special at the Bombshell Store! I have several rubber stamp sets from Bombshell but this was the first set I owned and I think it's still my favourite!

I've used several of the stamps from the set to decorate my journal page - I haven't opened my journal for awhile so this was a perfect opportunity!

Background is acrylic paints and I used a new Heidi Swapp stencil I bought recently to add the honeycomb pattern along with some sponging etc to add some more colour to the page.

I used the main Rose's Portrait image along with the little poem and single rose stamps from the set & I added some glitter glue to the rose's and also to Rose herself for some sparkle!

Make sure you visit the blog each Monday to see some great inspiration for using this stamp set!

A Victorian Lass....

January 5th 2014
Our first challenge for 2014 at the Just Some Lines Challenge Blog is "Your Favourite Colour Combo". How can you resist entering this months challenge when you can choose your colours!!! You must use a Just Some Lines image and as always we have a gorgeous freebie available at the blog or pop over to the store and grab yourself a favourite image to use with your favourite colours!

One of my most favourite colour combos is Kraft & Black so for this weeks card they are the colours I have used with the JSL Victorian Style Lass and co-ordinating embellishments.

You have the whole month of January to get your creations made and linked up - we can't wait to see what everyone's favourite colours are!

Risque Mardi Gras...

January 4th 2014
Oh la la - this may be a bit "risque" for some but this is my ATC reminder for our "Mardi Gras" challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog!!! Images are some I have used before and are from range available at Luna Girl. They are probably more "vintage" Mardi Gras Ladies - perhaps they were the inspiration LOL!!!!

Tagged!

January 3rd 2014
What a great way to start 2014 by getting painty and inky fingers LOL!!! I used acrylic paint and distress inks for the background on my tag - fun!!!

Image was printed directly onto the tag and then I added some rub ons and lots of other little embellishments! Image is by artist Jaz Higgins and is available to purchase at the Queen Kat Designs Store.

I gave this image a totally different look to the last time I used it a week ago to make 2 Xmas cards - I love images that are "versatile" and can be adapted to suit lots of "occasions"!!!
