Help Mum it's a "Twilight" Overdose!!!

Well my "quirky" mood is back at the moment as you will see from this card!! I couldn't resist when I saw the new "Kreepy Kids" Challenge for Macabre Monday at the Haunted Design House Blog this week!

The "kids" image is from the new Dezinaworld Gothic Sheet I bought on the weekend (same as the image I used on my age is a prison card). And how could I resist adding the wording - "don't tell mum but I think we've overdosed on the "Twilight" movies" - when I have a daughter who has read all the books, seen all the movies at the theatre and owns all the dvd's!!!!!

I printed the kids image onto some paper I had "painted" using the credit card technique, I also "dripped" red paint on the black leather look background paper. I've added some red ink over the wording, added some gold photo corners to tie in with the gold base card and added a silver cross to finish it off!

How would you like your kids to come home from the movies looking like that if it wasn't Halloween??????

I'm also entering this card at the new I Did It Creations Challenge Blog as they have a children theme - hope I don't scare them too much!!

The Swinging 60's

The new "theme" at the Soartful Blog this week is "The 60's" and the inspirational photo is a VW Bus and I have 2 creations to share.

This tag has been made with images from one of the Gecko Galz 60's collage sheets and a quote I found which is a bit of fun! Below is a close up picture.

This easel card has also been made with images from the 60's collage sheet.

The wording on the card is from"The Magic Bus" song by The Who (I like the music by The Who). I thought the bright colours were quite "psychedelic" and great for this "era"!

Well back to the "dark side" again today LOL!!! Of course you will see a bit of humour on this card as well because I just can't resist!!!

This great "ghoulish" woman is from a Gothic collage sheet from June at Dezinaworld - don't you just love it and the others on the sheet are just as scary and I can't wait to make some cards with them too! Of course I would need to find the "right" person to give this birthday card to so as not to offend LOL!!!

The "cell" background is also from Dezinaworld and fits perfectly with the "quote" I found at the Quote Garden Site. Plus as you can see I added the bit about having a great birthday! The font I used is called "Chiller" just to keep with this horror theme.

I have also added some gold photo corners, tea dyed muslin fabric, a paper flower, red brad and skeleton leaf and a little red flower stick pin to add some dimension to the card.

This card has a perfect "ghoulish FACE" for the new theme at Take a Word this week!! Personally she may need some sort of a "Face Lift" LOL!!!
This card is also entered at the new Forever Night Challenge this week which has a theme of Good and Evil Anything Goes and you have to create your good or evil side - and I think I created my evil but quirky side!!

Hope you get a bit of a laugh from this - I did!

Let Them Eat Cake - Marie Antoinette

Well it's Pink Saturday again - doesn't it come around quickly?? I visited some wonderful "pink" blogs last week and loved everyone's pink inspiration and I can't wait to see what everyone has this week!

I've made this pink themed card using an amazing new design from Michelle Perkett Studio entitled "Marie". She certainly looks good dressed up in "pink"!! The great patterned papers are from my new Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad "Out of Print" and I've added textured cardstock, punched butterflies, paper flowers, braid & ribbon. Marie has been coloured with Copic Markers.

I've also entered this card in the new Fabulous Friday Challenge which requires an image "coloured" and Marie has been coloured with Copic Markers. And the Stamp Something Blog requires the use of a "digi".

"Veiled" Solitaire

Here is my new card I have made for the new challenge at the Soartful Challenge Blog which features this amazing picture - Gloria Swanson shot by Edward Steichen - as inspiration:

As you can see I have used the Solitaire Lace & Jewels image from CS Designs as I thought the veiled lace matched perfectly with this theme and once I printed it on the gorgeous lace pattern metallic paper I knew it was just right!!!

The CS Designs sentiment is also a perfect match for the image and theme of the card!

I've layered the paper with mounting tape to give a dimensional look and have added some old lave to the outside of the card. All the card and paper has a beautiful metallic "sheen" to it so it looks quite classy. To finish off I've added some pewter pearls.



I really love this and hope you do too!!!

Gingersnap Creations Visiting Artist for August

I am so thrilled and honoured to have been asked to be a Visiting Artist this month at the Gingersnap Creations Blog!!!!!

The theme for this month is the "Joys of Childhood" and there are some great challenges lined up.

For this new Chestnut Theme Challenge the theme is "Babes & Tots" and I have made a little pram and/or cot toy using some of the cute little Babushka Designs from CS Designs.

These have been made with fabric, cord and wooden beads and hand sewn together - aren't they cute?

What a great theme we have this week at the Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog!

I've made this double pocket folded card using the tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers. I think this is a really effective folded card and I've made little tags for the pockets using 2 angels from the new set of angels from Michelle's Etsy Store - "Peace & Faith".  I really love the brown and blue tones of this card and I've added a "Best Wishes" stamp sentiment from Kaszazz.
