Happy Halloween

October 31st

Well here in Australia it's already Halloween night (so Halloween will probably be over here before it even starts where most of you are!!!) I have an altered lantern to share for Halloween. My lantern came from IKEA and I painted it with a set of Vintaj Metal Patina paints which I love - I amazed myself with the transformation just by adding the paint let alone the amazing Gecko Galz Images which I printed on transparent type paper and mounted in the sides of the lantern. It looks amazing with the candle glowing inside and the lights turned off - I couldn't get as good a picture as I wanted but I hope you can get the effect!! I added some "cobwebs" as well from the packet I bought last year for Halloween creations!!!

Here's some pics of each side so you can see all the Gecko Galz images and in the picture at the end of this post you can see the plain black lantern that I started with!!

We don't really celebrate Halloween here but apparently it is becoming more popular and on my way home from work I saw a couple of families with the kids all dressed up & going into houses.

Smudgy Antics have a "Ghoul's Night Out" theme and I think the images on my lantern show some creepy characters having a fun night out at Halloween!!!
At the Haunted Design House Macabre Monday challenge there is a "Hammer House of Horror" theme and some of the spooky Gecko Galz characters are from the movies!
I'm also entering my lantern in the Creative Belli - Halloween Challenge - this challenge encourages the use of "old & forgotten" embellishments & I think my 1 year old Halloween Spiders Web certainly counts LOL!!!
The Sisterhood of Crafters have a great Halloween theme challenge too.
And as it has been a real Halloween theme this week I am also entering at Try it on Tuesday and Tuesday Alchemy in their Halloween themed Challenges!!

Hugs from Lil Dracula

October 24th 2012

A new colour challenge at Jacksons Digital Expressions - see the blog for all the details. For my card I;ve used a great new Halloween design from Robert Jackson plus some paint chip samples, bats & cobweb!!

I'm also entering this at the Haunted Design House Macabre Monday "Vampires" themed challenge this week - he is fairly sinsiter looking although I've tried to "soften" him by ading the "Hugs" word LOL!!!

If You've Got It Flaunt It!

June 23rd 2012

LOL don't you just love this Dude Time Doodles image "Fanny She Devil"?? I've made this gate fold card for a few challenges. Firstly I'm entering her at the Smudgy Antics "Pretty Creepy" Challenge as although she's decked out in pink she is rather scary looking with those fangs & horns!!! She also fits in at the Macabre Monday's "Eerie Elegance" Challenge - she still looks "classy" with her robe & earrings but she is a bit eerie as well!! And Forever Night is running an Anything Goes Challenge so Fanny will join over there too!!

I'm also linking up to Pink Saturday this week as I haven't made a pink creation for awhile and love to join in with the fun & inspiration at Beverly's Blog!

Shot Through The Heart!

February 2nd 2012

A great new theme for the Macabre Monday Challenge at the Haunted Design House Blog. Requirements this week were to have at least one heart and a hole somewhere on your creation. I have 2 hearts - new Deco Heart Design from Chris at CS Designs along with 5 little holes made with the eyelets I attached. The Poison Bottle and Haunting Apparition Face are also from CS Designs along with the "He loves me he loves me not" sentiment. And I made the painted paper I printed the designs on. I had a great time putting this together!

Get Lost!

January 29th 2012
This is my entry for the new Haunted Design House Macabre Monday "Get Lost" themed challenge. You had to use a map on your creation this week.

I've used the "Paranormal Medium Agency Advert" from CS Designs and if you read the advert it says:

Want to find out what lies in the great beyond
Want to make contact with your dearly departed

So I thought with the "map" requirement it was perfect for the Get Lost theme - I printed the image at different angles all over the background then added a little clipart treasure map along with an olde worlde compass and added some shredded paper, muslin and skull charm to finish my card off!

I'm having a great time getting out my "Halloween" type images and joining the fun of Macabre Monday for something a bit "different"!!

Chic Freak!!!

January 22nd 2012
I just love the Haunted Design House "Macabre Monday" Challenges - I love getting out my "darker" images and creating something a little bit different and "out there" LOL!!!

This fantastic design is "Dementia" from CS Designs and the "Dare to be Different" wording is also from Chris - although this sentiment is a new design from Chris' "Express Yourself" range of digis I thought it was a perfect fit for this card.

Of course I coloured Dementia with Copic Markers and layered some black & red tulle on the card along with some black lace edging and 3 little rhinestones for a little bit of bling!! She really is a "Chic Freak"!!

I've Been Framed in Metal Mania!

January 13th 2012

I've made this card for 2 challenges this week - one is the Forever Night Challenge - "Framed" and the second is for the Haunted Design House - Macabre Monday "Metal Mania" Challenge. I've used a great designs from the CS Designs "Solitaire" range of digis - Steampunk Solitaire.

Because this Steampunk designs is "Framed" I thought it was perfect for the Forever Night "I've Been Framed" Challenge and because the Macabre Monday had a "metal" theme I used metallic silver card, embossed alfoil (embossed with a Cuttlebug "clockworks" folder), silver brads and some little metal tool charms to finish it off. I used a "steampunk" font to print the quote.

Veiled!!!

January 7th 2012
A great new "Got Goth?" Theme at the Haunted Design House this week and here's my creation:

I've used one of my favourite "Solitaire" designs from Chris at CS Designs and have printed her on a white metallic paper so the grey toned Copic Markers came out very "soft" looking. I added some red pearls and added a black tulle "veil". I thought the patterned red and black background paper was just perfect for my card. She has a real "mystery" to her!

I'm a Little Monster!

October 13th 2011
The new challenge for Macabre Monday at the Haunted Design House is Gods & Monsters - as usual I decided to take a slightly different interpretation of the theme and here is my 4 x 4 "Little Monster" creation:

The little "witch" image is from June at Dezinaworld and I made the painted background card myself. I added a little bow to her hat and the little tags with the text. She's a bit of a cute monster!!

I Was Framed!

September 4th 2011
The new challenge at the Haunted Design House "Macabre Monday" is "I Was Framed!" And as the sponsor this week is Dilly Beans Stamps I decided to use one of the digis I bought awhile ago and hadn't used yet!!

As you can see I've made my "Macabre Monday" card into a Macabre "Xmas" Card LOL!!! And I've used the new sketch from the Christmas Challenges (With Sketches) Blog to do the layout for my card. She's a cute but creepy image!!!!

I've added a matching pinwheel, some skeleton leaves in green & yellow and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment!

I'm No Angel

August 16th 2011
Another "humourous"??? Gothic creation!

The new "inspiration" at the Soartful Blog is the blonde starlet "Mae West" - well I didn't feel like making anything "pretty" today so I've gone with my weird and quirky sense of humour and used a Gothic image from Dezinaworld (the woman, wings and background are all from June as well).

Here's the tag I came up with - still using Mae West as the "inspiration" and a quirky little saying I made up myself!!!! Note: "I'm No Angel" is the name of a film Mae West starred in (in 1933).

I'm also entering my "Gothic" card at this week's Macabre Monday Challenge at the Haunted Designs House Blog - theme of "Queen of the Damned" as she looks quite "royal" and has a gorgeous pearl studded tiara!!! LOL!!!

I hope you like it and I also hope you get a laugh out of it!!!!

Help Mum it's a "Twilight" Overdose!!!

August 8th 2011
Well my "quirky" mood is back at the moment as you will see from this card!! I couldn't resist when I saw the new "Kreepy Kids" Challenge for Macabre Monday at the Haunted Design House Blog this week!

The "kids" image is from the new Dezinaworld Gothic Sheet I bought on the weekend (same as the image I used on my age is a prison card). And how could I resist adding the wording - "don't tell mum but I think we've overdosed on the "Twilight" movies" - when I have a daughter who has read all the books, seen all the movies at the theatre and owns all the dvd's!!!!!

I printed the kids image onto some paper I had "painted" using the credit card technique, I also "dripped" red paint on the black leather look background paper. I've added some red ink over the wording, added some gold photo corners to tie in with the gold base card and added a silver cross to finish it off!

How would you like your kids to come home from the movies looking like that if it wasn't Halloween??????

I'm also entering this card at the new I Did It Creations Challenge Blog as they have a children theme - hope I don't scare them too much!!

Out! Out, Damn Spot!

July 28th 2011
What a great new theme at the Haunted Design House Blog for their Macabre Monday Challenge!!! This is my first time entering their challenge and here is my  "reptilian" looking "blood spotted" card LOL!!!

Don't you love the textured reptile skin green background paper and black paper??? I've had this for a long long time so it was great to pull it out and achieve this effect with it! I've smeared red paint with my fingers on the background paper and dripped the paint on the black card and the flower!

This great image is Solitaire Swirl and Monocle from CS Designs - the Solitaire range of digis are amongst my very favourites from Chris! She's been coloured with Copic Markers in greys and reds to give a dark and ghoulish look.

The embellishments are some skeleton leaves in red and black and a paper flower with brad, some black lace trimming and a little red butterfly just so she doesn't look too frightening!!!

The new Forever Night Blog still have their "Welcome" challenge running so she is entered there as well.
