May 23rd 2018
Still sharing creations made some time ago!! These are altered playing card made for a swap in an Aussie Group I belong to.

Collage elements on this knitting themed altered card are by Art Tea Life.

This altered playing card uses collage bridal head by Dezinaworld. I added digital paper and ribbon and lace plus a little heart charm and some pearls to suit the bridal theme.

Be Whimsical.....

November 19th 2017

If you pop over to the Australian Art Journal Swap Blog to see the whole process of this page I made - theme "Whimsical" - another of  the journals in the Round Robin Journal Group I am in!

Of course I used collage paper doll elements from my MOST favourite Etsy Store "Art Tea Life" - check out the store - so many fab sheets to create with - I'm a regular shopper there LOL!!!!!

Loved creating this page - lots of colour and texture - a busy page but whimsy to me is busy and out there and a bit chaotic!!!!

Background Stamping with Sin City Stamps.....

November 16th 2017

I'm over at the Sin City Blog with these ideas for using stamps as part of your background journal pages!! I created these pages using "dot to dot" instructions we get each month in "Aussie" Facebook crafting group - I loved how this page turned out!

Fab collage steampunk lady is from a digital collage sheet by Gecko Galz. Spread uses old book pages, gesso, stencilling and of course Sin City rubber stamps! The monotone is effective!

Tree as Spirit.....

August 23rd 2017
Sharing a journal spread done for a Round Robin for a great little Aussie Art Group I belong to!! The theme of these pages was : Tree (as Spirit) - I LOVED creating in this journal!!

All digis are by Vera Lane Studio - I used images from several of the sets that are available in the store - they all mix and match sooooo well!!!

Background was paint spread using a brayer plus I added some stencilling for a bit more depth and then all the images were coloured with pastel pencils, fussy cut and arranged on the pages!

I LOVE how these pages turned out!!!

Floral Head....

July 19th 2017

A mixed media journal page made in February for our monthly "Dot to Dot" challenge at a little Aussie FB Group I am in. Main image consists of various digi stamps by Vera Lane Studio - the great thing with these digis is that they come in png format which means you can mix and match them and make fun mixed up images!!

I used texture paste, stencil, metallic paint, old book pages, clear glue and some swirls of cotton. Main digi image is coloured sparsely with "Smooth" paint.

Hello!

May 1st 2017

Another month gone - can't believe it's may already!! I'm sharing a couple of altered index cards I made into single layer postcards for an Aussie Swap Group I belong to. All digi stamps are by Vera Lane Studio - of course!! I printed directly to the card and coloured with pastel pencils. I spray sealed them and gave them a couple of coats of varnish as they had a postcard back added and were posted "naked" LOL!!! They did arrive safely!!

Hmm I Choose You.....

April 24th 2017
A mini pocket letter made for a "Love" themed swap for an Aussie swap group I belong to. Papers and images are a mixture of Gecko Galz and a Valentine's collage sheet by Heather Hudson.

It's always fun to make a mini pocket letter - a bit quicker to make 3 ATC inserts than the full sheet of nine!! I used black card for the ATC bases and then cut patterned tags from the sheet by Heather to fit slightly smaller than the base and used my sewing machine to attach them. I added Heart/Love Bingo cards by Gecko Galz and the stunning Woman also by Gecko Galz (from the Tattooed Women Collage Set). A bit of muslin, paper clip, charm and string to finish it all off! I love the colour tones and how it all turned out. Of course the back pockets were filled with a tea bag and extra goodies for the recipient!

Going Around in Circles....

February 28th 2017

Sharing another Vera Lane Studio DT creation and this journal page was also based on a prompt for an Aussie Swap Group I belong to!! Main VLS image is from the Dark Corner range of images "Hayes" - isn't he fab???

The photo above I took with the sunning shining through the venetian binds - I love the dark look it has - perfect for the image! I'm entering this in the Dream in Darkness Challenge as well - a bit spooky!!!!

Journal page theme is "circles" - I worked in my black page journal and added texture paste through a stencil and then ink sprayed the page. Hayes was coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and added to the page with a piece of red sprayed muslin cloth - to add a bit of gruesomeness LOL!! I added circles of red cotton, computer generated wording and used a red posca pen to outline some of the circles! Love it!!!

Remember we have a Facebook Group for Vera Lane Studio Fans - we have a monthly ATc swap so if you are into trading come and join us!

Celebrate 2017...

January 6th 2017

A journal page made for a "fun" theme for a little Aussie Swap Group I am on at Facebook! I used my Gelli Plate to cover the background of the page. Added some black markings with an old credit card and lid. Added the letters "Celebrate 2017" and of course the Watercolour Clipart images which are available at Sal's SLS Lines Website - this Panda Bear Set is relatively new to the store and I couldn't resist buying it and creating!

Collages in Green....

December 28th 2016

Sharing 2 altered index cards made for an aussie swap group I belong to with theme of "Green"!! Fantastic and fun collage images are from Lisa's Altered Art - one of my fav stores! These collage and layer style cards are a perfect way to use up scraps of paper and little embellishments!

Mini Halloween Pocket Letters....

October 30th 2016
Sharing 2 x mini pocket letters made for an Aussie Swap Group I belong to - with a Halloween theme of course for this time of the year!

This first one I am entering in the current Desert Islands Craft Challenge using the following items from their itinerary: green & black, Halloween sentiment, stripes, ribbon or twine - I have ribbon & twine on the spine of the pocket letter.

I started with a base ATC from black card and then cut up purple paint chip samples - perfect for a quick background of colour! Added green ink sprayed muslin cloth and images by Lisa's Altered Art. I added washi tape and the ribbon & twine to the plastic pockets.

The next mini pocket letter I did with an orange and black pumpkin theme - images again from Lisa's Altered Art and backgrounds done with black card and paint chip samples.

I am entering these ATC's in the current Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge with the theme of Witches, Bats & Black Cats - perfect for the little witches sitting in the carts!

Hot Pink Index Cards

July 14th 2017
I'm in a little Aussie Swap Group and we have all sorts of fun swaps on a regular basis - today I am sharing my altered index cards for a "Hot Pink" swap! I'll join any swap where "pink" is the featured colour LOL!

Both cards have "smooshed" acrylic paint backgrounds, some foil chocolate wrappers on the top & bottom edges, some bubble wrap and lid paint marks and the fantastic and fun collage images are from Lisa's Altered Art! The recipients were very happy to receive these! And I got some great return cards as well.

Collage Dog & Cat Index Cards!

May 30th 2016
Sharing 4 collaged index cards made for an Aussie Group Swap with Feline/Canine theme - right up my alley!

I used 6 x 4 index cards as a base and then old book pages and other scraps of paper and ephemera I had sitting around - a good way to use scraps!!!! Everything including collage images were attached to the cards with staples - no glue!!!

All collage images are from collage sheets by Lisa's Altered Art - you can find an amazing array or images to create with at their Etsy Store!!

Year of the Monkey....

February 22nd 2016

Sharing an altered index card made with a brand new image released this week by Sandra Caldwell "Monkey New Year" - available at her Etsy Store!

I altered an index card for a swap I was in with an Aussie swap group - theme of Chinese New Year and this image was just perfect for 2016 being the Year of the Monkey! Background is very much mixed media - including gesso, Asian text book pages, ink psrays, gold paint, Silhouette Lantern cut outs, gold smooch, stamped wording and of course the digi stamp coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut! I love the effect and how it turned out and it has been received by my swap partner and they love it too.

I am also entering this card at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "Mixed Media" Challenge!!!
