JessicaLynnOriginal goes Aussie......

July 30th 2016
A brand new stamp set at JessicaLynnOriginal - an "Aussie" set of stamps - so great to have some Aussie stamps to work with!!!!

I've made 3 collaged & stapled 6 x 4 index cards with the stamps from this set. Firstly this one uses the "Kiwi" stamp - a New Zealand bird and some great summery/island holiday themed patterned papers and cut outs by Kaisercraft - love the tropical feel and soft colours of this.

The next 2 index cards use Aussie themed scrapbooking papers, some mesh and hessian bits and once again stapled to hold things together! I stamped onto kraft coloured paper and fussy cut and added to the layers. I love the "leaf" stamp - so versatile and great to multi stamp it out and create some interest.

Make sure you check out the rest of the DT's creations - link can be found here at Jessica's Website!

JessicaLynnOrginal "Custom Stamp" Blog Hop......

21st May 2016

Today the JessicaLynnOriginal DT are showcasing & promoting the great "Custom" stamps that Jessica can make for you!! And if you CLICK HERE you will be taken to the direct link at the JLO Store to see all the details about ordering a custom stamp of your own! The great thing is that you can use your artwork, or your kids artwork or have Jessica design something for you! Great for weddings, gifts, geocaching  anything!!

I've been on the JLO Design Team for several years now and am so lucky to have had Jessica draw up a couple of "Aussie" designs for me to create with - LOL not surprisingly I am the only Aussie Gal on the DT so she spoils me with images related to Australia which is great! Today I have been playing around with "one staple collage" creations - except I have used 3 or 4 staples because of all my collage stuff on my index cards LOL!!! But still it looks good and I have not used glue! Idea comes from ICAD (Index Card a Day) which is starting up again for 61 days on 1st June and someone posted a great one staple collaged index card - it looked so great that I decided to give it a try with these JLO images after finding an article at the ICAD Blog!!

Images used on my index cards are "The Walking Dead Emu" LOL - just love this image!!!! And also "Kookaburra" - a very unique laughing bird!!!! You will see I have used old book pages, ephemera, fibres, wording etc. I kept the images simple - printed on Kraft paper and fussy cut - no colouring - just gone for a natural look!

I always love to create with any "Australian" Style images so it's great to have someone who can draw up just what you want!!

Happy Australia Day!

January 26th 2016
Today it's Australia Day so we have a Public Holiday - more time to craft??????

I decorated this page in a travelling journal at the end of last year which made it's way around New Zealand over here to Australia and then back to it's home in New Zealand!!

I decorated several pages all in an Australiana theme! This amazing koala digi is by Sandra Caldwell (I'm on Sandra's DT!!) you can find it here in her Etsy Store. I sooo love this image that I have to make myself a page in my own journal using this image so I have a coloured image and aussie page for myself!! I coloured the image with Copic Markers and fussy cut, added some aussie style embellies and "g'day" wording! A perfect post for today!

Kookaburra says "G'day".......

June 6th 2015

The current challenge at the Cardz 4 Guyz Blog is "Birds" so I really wanted to use this special Kookaburra image again for a real Aussie creation!!!!! Jessica from JessicaLynnOriginal drew this especially for me some time ago - you may have seen it here on my blog before but a great excuse today to print it off and turn it into an outback card with some great papers from an Aussie Etsy Store "Sassaby"!

It's Australia Day & Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree!!!!!!!!

January 26th 2015

Happy Australia Day to all my "Aussie" friends!

I'm sharing some tag art creations using a great Kookaburra digi designed especially for me by Jessica at JessicaLynnOriginal - lucky me to have Jessica design this for me to create with!!!!!

I printed direct to the tag through my printer and added distress inks and some stamped texture to the tags.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra, gay your life must be!

La La Land Aussie Gift Bags

January 27th 2014

Today is a Public Holiday here in Australia - because Australia Day was yesterday (Sunday) we have an actual holiday today so I am sharing these Australian themed gift bags which although they were made as xmas gifts they are still very Australian themed!

I made these gift bags for 2 Japanese visitors who shared Christmas lunch with us. Of course I left it to the last minute to decide I was going to give them a small gift each so was madly hunting for new images and then colouring and putting them all together Xmas Eve & Xmas Morning!

Gorgeous "Marci & Luka" characters are digital stamps from La La Land - I had seen these images in rubber before but I was so excited when I saw that they were available as Digital Stamps - I snapped them straight up and got them printed.

Then of course I had no Australiana paper on hand or anything so I had to hunt the net again - I found the pre coloured gumnut frame and image from Nana Vic's Digitals - what a bonus!! And then the wooden background came from Dana Garson Design Etsy Store. So these bags are a real compilation of various images!!

I loved them and so did the Japanese guests and they also loved the Australian chocolate goodies inside!!!

Such is Life!

January 28th 2013

Sharing another "Aussie" themed creation for the Australia Day Public Holiday today! I've used another fabulous Angie Delarie Design - Ned Kelly - he was such fun to colour and use on this tag which I made based on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013 for January. (I posted another steampunk theme tag earlier in January based on Tim's January tag also - click here to view). I love the earthy tones of this tag.

Happy Australia Day!

January 26th 2013

Today is Australia Day - so to all my fellow "Aussies" - have a great day - we get Monday as a Public Holiday in lieu of Australia Day being on a Saturday - so a long weekend!!

Today I am sharing my first ever Journal Page using a great "Aussie Koala" image from Angie Delarie Scrapbooking (an Australian Designer!!!!) Make sure you check out Angie's Etsy Store for some more fantastic Aussie images along with a whole range of other great designs! And some very exciting news is that I have just joined Angie's Design Team so I will be sharing lots of creations using Angie's Designs!!! If you visit the Angie Delarie Scrapbooking Blog you can see the new releases for February and also some more "Aussie" flavour creations!!

I based my background on techniques/ideas from Kate Crane's Art Journalling DVD 1 & 2 - wow love these - so I just had to buy volumes 3 & 4 too (found a stockist in Australia)!!! I used a great set of Alphabet Stamps I got for Xmas, grass & leaves die cuts. And I did some journalling and added some of the words to the Australian Anthem. I had so much fun doing this page!

How much can a koala bear???  LOL!!!
