Gecko Galz "Joy" Journal Page

January 1st 2025
Sharing an art journal pages using Gecko Galz collage images available in the Etsy Store.

This page uses an image from "The Red Flower" Collage sheet - some really great images on this sheet to create with! Stencils used on background are by Tim Holtz.
The "JOY" alphabet stamps are from a set available at Blank Page Muse Stamps.

Blank Page Muse Stamps: Forever February!

February 6th 2024

Today I am sharing an altered index card along with new digital download images available in store!

Products used:
Blocks Pattern Stencil designed by Deadseatoons
"Forever" word stamp from the Romance Classic Couples Set

I've used a 6 x 4 index card which already had a "painty" background from excess paint from another project! I used the block pattern stencil and added some texture paste.
I printed the digital page onto light cardstock and fussy cut the images I wanted to use.
I stamped the word "forever" onto fabric and sewed onto a piece of scrap patterned card by Pam Bray.
I arranged all the collage images and stamped wording onto the index card along with a vintage focal image (Tim Holtz paper doll).
To finish off I zigzagged a border with my sewing machine.

Hope you feel inspired to try something a bit different with the calendar download!

Blank Page Muse: Paper Doll Dream!

January 6th 2024

Happy New Year! Can you believe it's now 2024? Time flies!
Hope one of your new year's resolutions is to make more creative time for yourself!

Today I'm sharing a journal page using some of the fabulous "clear" stamps available in store - have you seen them? Lots to choose from and a great range of little "planner" stamps for those of you who love to decorate your diaries!

I've used these items for my "arty doll" page today:
Dots & Spots Stencil by Donna Gray
Hearts Stencil by Magda Polakow

I used collage paper from my stash and paint for the background along with patterned stamps from the clear stamp set.
I stamped the "corner" stamp and main doll image onto patterned paper from the Sweet Passion paper pack - just love the pink colours!
I used a "head" from a Tim Holtz paper doll and adhered to the paper doll.
I adhered all the stamped paper to the journal background and stamped the "dream" word onto the page.
Some splatters and a page border to finish off!

Blank page Muse/I Brake For Stamps: Photograph & Remember

August 2nd 2023

Today I am sharing some vintage tags using stamps and stencils available in the store along with vintage collage elements and bits and pieces.

I made the tags backgrounds with stencils, texture paste and Lindy's Magicals.
Stencils used:
Eye Stencil & Blocks Pattern both designed by Dead Sea Toons

Stamps used:
"Dots" on tag background from the Half Sheet Numbers & Flowers
Window Frame stamped onto white card and fussy cut

I then added Tim Holtz vintage "heads', some vintage ephemera, hessian, lace, acetate embellishments - they are a bit of a mix of vintage and modern which I love!

APC Week 16!

January 25th 2015

I've joined Claudine's Altered Playing Card Challenge a little late so as well as doing each new week I'm also working backwards to try and "catch up" LOL!! You can see everyone's creations at the FB Group!

I've used gorgeous dog stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal - of course!! This first card uses one of the images from the "Pit Bull" stamp set which is fairly new in store - it's a great set - I've used several of the stamps recently! Sentiment is a separate stamp also from the JessicaLynnOriginal store.

This second card uses a mini order Collie stamp which you can also find in the dog section at JLO. The letter stamps were some I've had for years - they are very handy for wording and sentiments.

I loved the background technique for these - the tissue paper is from the Tim Holtz range. So remember to check out Claudine's Blog for all the details of the APC Challenge!

Tim Holtz June Tag

June 24th 2013

Finally got my June Tag done using Tim's instructions at his blog - I really enjoyed this technique! Image is a digital stamp from Gecko Galz. Background quote stamp is one I've had for a long time! As usual I improvised and went with what I had on hand and I'm really happy with how it turned out - has quite a masculine feel to it!

Joyful!

May 23rd 2013

Finally got time to make my tag for May for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013 and as usual I've added my own twist with what I have on hand. The rub ons I used were from the cheap shop, I've used a gorgeous Bombshell Stamp Set "Rose's Portrait" - my favourite at the moment and other little bits & pieces from my stash. I'm actually really happy with how this has come out and LOL I'm still managing to get my tag done each month so that's an achievement!

Tim Holtz April 2013 Tag!

April 26th 2013

I finally got my April Tag done for Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 - this one was a lot of fun and as usual I improvised with what I had on hand. Stamped image is from Stamp-It (an Australian Company), cog charms are Tim Holtz and a couple of the other charms were from my stash. I didn't have any Distress Paint to give a metallic look so I used my Vintaj Metal Patina Set and they worked in the same way.

Easter Tag

March 21st 2013

I am sharing one of my creations for Gecko Galz this month using new Vintage Style Easter Collage images - background images and main "bunny" image are from the new sheets released this month. My tag is based on Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 for March - as usual I added my own interpretation using what I had at hand. I am also entering my tag in the current "Vintage Easter" challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.

Queen of Hearts Tag

February 25th 2013

Finally got my February tag made for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013! As I mentioned last time I don't always have al the "ingredients" specified so I have improvised and added my own style! Queen of Hearts image is from Angie Delarie Scrapbooking. Background is Distress Stains, I used a couple of embossing folders I had for the black card, a little hand stamp pointing to the "I love you" pendant and some japanese washi tape for the tie at the top.

And don't forget our "Anything but a Card" Challenge still has a week to go at The Cheerful Stamp Pad - lots of inspiration from the DT at the blog! and so much scope for wht you can create and enter as well!!

Such is Life!

January 28th 2013

Sharing another "Aussie" themed creation for the Australia Day Public Holiday today! I've used another fabulous Angie Delarie Design - Ned Kelly - he was such fun to colour and use on this tag which I made based on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013 for January. (I posted another steampunk theme tag earlier in January based on Tim's January tag also - click here to view). I love the earthy tones of this tag.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013

January 8th 2013

I decided after seeing a fellow blogging friends post "Terry" (she always has such inspirational stuff) - that I would try and join in the fun each month by following Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 and I actually got this made over the weekend - hooray!!! I didn't have all the elements/inks/embellishments so I "improvised" when I had to!!

Quote I found on the internet and printed on kraft paper, fantastic steampunk woman is from Gecko Galz - check out the whole set - some great digital steampunk images!!! Background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder - "Clocks". The little "gear/cog" in the bottom corner is from Tim's range and I used Distress Inks. I'm pretty happy with how this has come up!
