Greta Garbo is the new "Starlet"

July 13th 2011

Here is my creation for the new starlet at the 52 Starlets Art Challenge - I've been a bit busy and missed the last few weeks but managed to get this very "Clean and Simple" card made using a quote from Greta herself which I thought suited the image I decided to use. And I thought the image and "quote" says it all and nothing more was needed on the card!

As Cute as a Button

July 13th 2011
As you can see by the title the new challenge at the Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog is "Cute as a Button" so you need to incorporate buttons on your creation!!!

This is one of Michelle's new images "Molly" - isn't she cute?  I've tried to give this card a bit of 'vintage' flavour using some Basic Grey papers from my 6 x 6 "Curio" Pad and adding the wooden buttons and dyed muslin fabric.

This card is based on the new sketch at Sketch Saturday. And I've also entered it at the Tuesday Throwdown Blog for their "Fun in the Sun" challenge this week!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT have made at the challenge blog and remember you MUST use a Michelle Perkett Studio Image to enter our challenges!

Xmas in July!!

July 12th 2011

Scary isn't it to be thinking of Xmas again already LOL but Chris at CS Designs has just released some new designs for this occasion!! I've used one of the new designs on this card - Text Christmas Tree - there are more of these to choose from so make sure you check out Chris' shop and grab some for yourself and get prepared for Xmas!!

This weeks new challenge at CS Designs is Xmas - Green & Red - nice and traditional so you should be able to come up with something!!! All the details can be found on our challenge blog. And remember you have all month to enter the challenges so there is no excuse for not joining in the fun and having a chance to win some great designs from CS Designs!!

As you can see I've also used another of Chris' designs to compliment the tree "Lulu Goes Shopping" - perfect image for Xmas shopping!!!

Make sure you visit the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with - there are some amazing creations!

The Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge Blog have a current challenge to use glitter and I have used glitter on Lulu's wings and earrings to make her nice and sparkly for Xmas! The Christmas Stampin Blogspot have a "heavy metal challenge running and I've used a gold metal star brad on my tree!!

A Brown Wedding?

July 11th 2011

I've made this card with a "brown" theme for the Summer of Colour this week and as the new Take a Word Challenge was "Wedding" I decided to make a brown toned wedding card to fit both blogs! The great background and bride images are from June at Dezinaworld. Also The Shabby Tea Room have a "Flower Power" theme with an inspirational flower picture and my roses and the flowers in the bride's veil make my card nice and flowery! My wonderful Blogging friend Linda (who is on the DT) let me know about the Stamp Scrap & Doodle Saturday current challenge they have which is a colour challenge of cream brown and one other colour!

The background image is from the Shabby Chic Backgrounds collection and the gorgeous bride from the Bride Collage sheet. I've layered the brown roses with mounting foam to give a 3D effect and have added some tea dyed muslin, cloth ribbon "Love Much", little silk flower and rings charm. Plus I added some little brown pearls to the brides necklace and earrings. I really love the finished look of this collage card!

Harmony Goddess

July 10th 2011
I just love this peaceful and relaxed Harmony Goddess from Michelle Perkett Studio! I love yoga it's so relaxing and great for "stretching out" those muscles and joints!

I've coloured her in bright yellows and oranges - colours I tend to stay away from but I think they suit this image perfectly! I've layered her on matching bright coloured card as well.

I'm the Featured Blog at Pink Saturday This Week!!!

July 9th 2011
You know I have been getting "right into" Pink Saturday lately and this week I'm thrilled to be the "featured blog" at Pink Saturday so if you hop over you can see some more pink creations - you are guaranteed to find some great "eye candy"!

This fabric wall hanging was made especially for this week's Pink Saturday and it uses one of the amazing new "Solitaire" designs from CS Designs "Lace & Jewels" - isn't she just divine all decked out in PINK??? And Chris was so kind that she made the "pink" sentiment especially for the occasion so make sure you check out her blog for all of her designs and sentiments!

I had so much fun making this "creation" with fabrics and my sewing machine. I loved sewing all the beads on and I made the little lace flower in the bottom corner as well as the butterfly and little sentiment tag. Even the piece of dowel is painted pink!

I also added a picture of my little "Expressive Heart" fabric hanging I made some time ago with a CS Designs digi and thought it was most appropriate for it to make a "return" appearance for this special Pink Saturday post:

HAVE A GREAT PINK SATURDAY EVERYONE!!!

CS Designs "Blossom" Cards

July 8th 2011

The cards today feature the cute little "Blossom" images from CS Designs. I coloured these in red tonings as they remind me a bit of some native bushes in Australia with red blossoms!

The sentiment is also from CS Designs and matches the Blossom images perfectly!
