A Brown Wedding?

July 11th 2011

I've made this card with a "brown" theme for the Summer of Colour this week and as the new Take a Word Challenge was "Wedding" I decided to make a brown toned wedding card to fit both blogs! The great background and bride images are from June at Dezinaworld. Also The Shabby Tea Room have a "Flower Power" theme with an inspirational flower picture and my roses and the flowers in the bride's veil make my card nice and flowery! My wonderful Blogging friend Linda (who is on the DT) let me know about the Stamp Scrap & Doodle Saturday current challenge they have which is a colour challenge of cream brown and one other colour!

The background image is from the Shabby Chic Backgrounds collection and the gorgeous bride from the Bride Collage sheet. I've layered the brown roses with mounting foam to give a 3D effect and have added some tea dyed muslin, cloth ribbon "Love Much", little silk flower and rings charm. Plus I added some little brown pearls to the brides necklace and earrings. I really love the finished look of this collage card!

Beautiful, touching and thoroughly original. I love it!!

(PS - I am often mistaken for Bev and vice versa but the jilted bride was from me!! Bev and I are, indeed, kindred spirits. We have been friends in spite of the great distance between us (US and Australia) for over 12 years and we do think alike - Cheers, Marie aka Ozstuff)

Brown is not a colour generally associated with weddings and yet you have made a wonderful piece of art and a super entry for Weddings!
