SOC Week 6 : 1 orange + 1 orange + 1 blue

August 5th 2015
This is my Week 6 journal page for the Summer Of Colour which finished a few weeks ago - I was late creating it and getting it linked to the SOC but am still sharing and am still happy that I completed all 6 weeks of the colour challenges - so much fun! Unfortunately this was the last year of the Summer of Colour fun!

Stamp is a Jasmine Becket-Griffith design by JessicaLynnOriginal - there are quite a few Jasmine Becket-Griffith stamps at the store - they are some of my favourite stamps!!

I used ink sprays on the background along with some washi tape bits! I love this page and how it turned out and I think the colours suit the pumpkin gal!

Summer of Colour Week 5 : 1 green + 1 green + 1 pink

July 12th 2015

Week 5 for the Summer of Colour Challenge - as you can see from the post title colours are green = green + pink - enjoyed this colour combo! Only had time to do a quick little journal page as I am so busy working on some other stuff at the moment! Could not resist using my favourite JLO Bunny Stamp from the Easter Stamp Set available at the JessicaLynnOriginal Store and putting the little "pink" bunny amongst some two toned green grass LOL!!!!! Can't believe next week is the last week for the Summer of Colour - I've really been enjoying it this year!

Summer of Colour Week 4: 1 red + 1 red + 1 metallic

July 3rd 2015
"Surrender the Booty!"

Just loved this week's colour combo for the Colour of Summer - I like to colour with red and I enjoyed playing with my gold embossing powder.

I used a stencil with embossing liquid for the bottom of the page and embossed with the gold powder. And I cut the flag and skull from black card and covered with embossing fluid too and gold embossed - love the look (the skull embossed with a deep red powder).

I added some gold thread and red/white string to the pirate flag. Stamped image is by JessicaLynnOriginal and is one of her commissioned Jasmine Becket-Griffith stamps - just love the Jasmine Becket-Griffith range - you must check them out in store!!!!

This pic the flash went off but I like it because it shows the real metallic gold embossing powder shine! As always I am looking forward to mext week's colour combo!

Summer of Colour Week 3: 1 purple + 1 purple + 1 yellow

June 28th 2015

Wow what great colours for this week's Summer of Colour!!!! I love purple - any shade!!

I went bright yellow and 2 bright shades of purple and made my background with acrylic paint and a credit card - always love the effect of dragging the paint across the page! Painted a piece of muslin cloth yellow as well. Added a gorgeous birdcage charm & some sticky mesh. Stamped image coloured with Copic Markers.

Stamped image is one of the licensed Jasmine Becket- Griffith stamps by JessicaLynnOriginal - "Red Maple Fairy". The flower stamp is from JLO as well but LOL I forgot the other side of the page had some pearls on it so I couldn't get a "flat" surface to stamp - oh well I still like the effect and I added some painted circles and swiped colour over the stamped gal too to blend it all in together.

Summer of Colour Week 2: pink + pink + orange

June 18th 2015

Wow do I ever love this week's Summer of Colour combo of 1 pink + 1 pink + 1 orange - fabulous colours to play with!!

And here's my little journal page I made with paint - a light pink, a metallic rose pink and orange. I stamped a fabulous JessicaLynnOriginal "Jasmine Becket-Griffith" Stamp over the page and used a pink "Smooch" to highlight her lips, eyes and parts of the butterflies.

Very happy with how this turned out!

Summer of Colour Week 1: blue+blue+green

June 10th 2015

Oh wow do I love how this turned out!! I've made this for 2 things - firstly the Summer of Colour has started again over at Kristin's Twinkle Twinkle Blog and this year the theme is "Colour by Number" and for this first week the "formula" is: 1 blue + 1 blue + 1 green! Green and blue are not often colours I use lots of but I'm really happy with how this all looks.

I've also added lots of texture to my card so I can enter at the "Texture" themed challenge at the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge this week!

I sprayed the background with 2 shades of blue and one of green and spritzed with water and then added some paw prints with texture paste and resprayed the prints with green to make them stand out. I tore some scraps of paw print dog paper and layered them then sprayed those too for more colour. to finish I added some sticky builders mesh, sprayed muslin cloth, cut the bones and "woof" on the Silhouette and then of course my favourite little Pitt Bull Stamp from my favourite artist JessicaLynnOriginal coloured with Copic Markers - of course I did a 2-toned blue scarf for the Summer of Colour theme LOL!!!

Sage & Sepia

July 19th 2013

My final creation for the last week of the Summer of Colour with the colour scheme of "Sage & Sepia"! I've made a little Post-it Note Cover using a gorgeous image from Gecko Galz and some washi paper, gold embossed heart and little "notes" lettering! Now we will all have to wait until next year for another Summer of Colour!

Dream a Little Dream of Me...

July 14th 2013

My mini journal page for this weeks Summer of Colour - Week 5  Candy Apple Red & Yellow.

Image is from Gecko Galz and I used my fingers to make a painted red & yellow background - looks a bit like flames of a fire - the woman looks "sultry" so I think they work well together LOL!!

I can't believe there is only one more week for the Summer of Colour - I'm so glad I have managed to keep up!!!

Charcoal Grey & Pale Pink

July 6th 2013

My card today has been made with several things in mind - it's my Summer of Colour Creation for Week 4 with the colour combo of charcoal grey & pale pink and I have used a gorgeous Just Some Lines image for their Anything Goes Challenge along with the July Sketch from the CLP Challenge Blog!

Patterned papers are from SherryK's Etsy Store (she has some great digi paper packs). Just Some Lines image "Emo Amber and Pup" has been coloured with Copic Markers. I added some pale pink lace, buttons and Prima Flower as embellishments.

Godzilla!!

June 30th 2013

Wow the last day of June - who can believe we are halfway through the year!!!! Here's my creation for Week 3 of the Summer of Colour 2013. "Lime Green & Purple" is the colour combo for this week and I have my little ATC to share with you which has a fussy cut photo of my daughter (taken several year ago now) wearing a lime green & purple "Godzilla" dance costume - this was for an amazing dance routine her troupe did - it was quite striking to watch! So it was perfect to create with the fussy cut photo for this weeks challenge! The photo probably doesnt really do the costume justice as it was sprkly shimmery lycra with glossy purple patches!

She Sells Sea Shells...

June 20th 2013

Another post for today! I've been madly working on my June Pages for The Kathryn Wheel Calendar Challenge but because I used some gorgeous mermaid images from Dilly Beans I needed to get the pages finished asap to enter at the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog for their "Under The Sea" Challenge and LOL I have made it with 9 hours left!!!

I have been admiring these mermaid images for some time so I finally purchased them last night and I decided that I wanted to also use my pages for the "Summer of Colour" Challenge for this week with the colour combo "Orange & Hot Pink" - wow I had so much fun with these great vibrant colours and I'm sure somehwere under the sea these beautiful colours would be shining!!!

Background is paint in orange & pink of course with some white highlights. I cut the little numbers for each day of the week from a card sheet I have had for ages, Images are coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut and a bit of my favourtie sticky mesh stuff added! Sorry about all the pictures - I just couldn't resist!!

I'd Like to be Under the Sea...

June 13th 2013

Today I am sharing a new Journal Page made for Queen Kat Designs using a fabulous digi image from Maigan Lynn! The journal background has been sprayed with shades of green Fireworks Ink, sponged with co-ordinating dye inks, stencilled with a Dylusions stencil, had some "bling" added along with my trusty tea dyed muslin & that great sticky mesh the builder left at my house LOL!! I used some alphabet stamps to add the wrding to the great Beatles song "Octopus's Garden" for a bit of fun! The "Mad Fancy" Mermaid image has been coloured with Copic Markers. I really love these wonderful designs from Maigan and have nearly finished colouring another of her images so will get creating with that as well!

This creation is also for the new Summer of Colour Challenge for 2013 which started this week - this year everyone is "voting" for the colour combination each week which is a bit of fun - this weeks vote is "Citron Green & Turquoise" - now I think I'm pretty close with these greens and turquoise shades! I was really good last year and managed to enter each week so I'm hoping to keep up the same good work this year & I can't wait to see what the colour combo is for next week!

Watermelon Ice

July 20th 2012
I can't believe this is the last week for the Summer of Colour! This week's ice cream inspiration is "Watermelon Ice" and again I have used a Gecko Galz image for my black & red themed ATC.

I will be eagerly awaiting next year's Summer of Colour - it's always great fun & a challenge to create with the chosen colour theme each week!! A big thanks to Kristin for orgainsing this inspiring event!!

Wild 'N Reckless Sherbert

July 13th 2012

Week 5 Ice Cream Colour Inspiration is Wild 'N Reckless Sherbert at the Summer of Colour. I've made this bright card using tissue paper to make the background and a gorgeous lady image from Gecko Galz. I can't believe that there is only one week left for this year's Summer of Colour!

Strawberry Lemonade Punch!

July 3rd 2012
The new "flavour" for this weeks Summer of Colour 2 is Strawberry Lemonade Punch - YUM!!!
This week I decided to make an ATC using a Gecko Galz Image from their Pixie Dust Collage Sheet.

Then I decided that I wanted to make the ATC into a card so I ended up making this Birthday Card:

I love seeing what everyone else creates too at The Summer of Colour each week!!

Baseball Nut!!??!!

June 26th 2012

Another great "ice cream flavour" for Week 3 of the Colour of Summer 2 Baseball Nut (vanilla, raspberry & cashews) LOL never heard of it here in Australia!!!! Anyway I was still happy to create with these yummy flavours using another great collage image from Gecko Galz - make sure you check out their site - I'm using Gecko Galz images all throughout the Colour of Summer this year!

Next week has another great flavour and I can't wait to get creating!!

Mint & Choc Chip

June 18th 2012
The new "Ice-cream Flavour" for this second week of the Summer of Colour is "Mint & Choc Chip" - YUM!!

For my creation this week I've used a "Scarlett" image from the Frankly Scarlett Collage sheet by Gecko Galz along with mint & chocolate coloured card, patterned papers & embellishments!

I'm also joining in at Crafting When We Can with their mint green & chocolate theme challenge this week - perfect for this Summer of colour card!!!

Rainbow Sherbert

June 11th 2012
At last the "Summer of Colour: 2" has started again!!! I joined in with as many as I could last year and promised myself this year I would make something for each week of colour!

This year the colours are based on the colours of our Favourite Ice Cream Flavours - YUM!!! For Week 1 "Rainbow Sherbert" is the flavour with colours of "orange, pink, yellow & a touch of white". You have a week to link up before the next "flavour" starts!!
I've made this bright card using a great Asian Geisha image from Gecko Galz & I thought it was appropriate to use one of their images as I am honoured to be one of their new Design Team Members just announced this weekend!!! I've used wonderful Japanese papers as well.

Feeling PURPLE!!!

July 27th 2011
I love purple and I was so excited when I knew that "purple" was the colour for this week's Summer of Colour!!!

I've used this amazing Solitaire Leather & Rivets Design from Chris at CS Designs. These Solitaire designs are some of my most favourite designs at the moment and I am finding so many different ways to use them! You will notice that I have used the single flower image from the Summer Garden Collection also from CS Designs! And to top it all off the "colour" sentiment is from Chris' sentiment range of digis.

I've paper pieced this image using textured cardstock and I wanted to keep with the "theme" of the image "Leather and Rivets" so I have used eyelets as rivets and have added real stitching as well. I have cut around the single flower image and moutned on the card along with the other embellisments including the skeleton leaves, little butterfly punchies, sizzix tags and fibres.

I hope you like my card and make sure you visit the Summer of Colour Blog and check out all the other amazing purple creations on show!

Make it Monday have an Anything Goes Challenge this week so my purple creation has been entered there! The 2 Sisters Challenge Blog have an anything goes challenge also! I've also entered my purple card at the Stamp Something Blog for their "embellishment" challenge.

Somewhere Between Chance & Mystery....

July 17th 2011

The Summer of Colour this week is RED (LOL I'm a bit early posting!!) and I've used red as a "feature" on this card so thought it would fit in with this wonderful colour challenge blog! LOL I used my fingers to "drag" the red paint down this card obviously to make it look like bloody hand prints!!!

There is also a new challenge blog starting up: Forever Night Challenges which is going to focus on the "darker" side of crafting including gothic, steam punk, emo, punk that sort of edgy dark art!! Now this is an area I really haven't gotten into although I've done some steam punk items and loved it and have just recently started colouring in darker more striking colours and trying to make images look more macabre!!!

So the first challenge is an Anything Goes Theme with this "genre" in mind . I've used a CS Designs image from the "Solitaire / Behind the Mask Series - PERFECT images for this type of challenge!!!! I've used the Solitaire Mysterious Butterfly image - now if you look at the picture below which is from Chris' Shop you will see how totally different this image looks when coloured more traditionally compared to the dark greys and blood reds I've used for this card. Just goes to show how versatile these designs can be!!!

The sentiment I have used is also from the CS Designs range of digis and is a perfect match for this "masked" image! The cute little cat is just a Clipart picture I found and thought was a "cute" little addition to this "dark" card!
