Dia De Los Muertos by Maigan Lynn

October 9th 2014

I'm a big fan of Maigan Lynn and when I saw this image available as a digi at the Sweet Pea Store I HAD to have it! So as you can see I used the image on a journal page. Added lots of paint to the background along with some strips of paper I had left over from other creations (a great way to use those bits you can't bear to throw away!!!)

I coloured Maigan's image with Copic Markers, cut a great skull design from Silhouette to use in the background, added some mesh and finished my page! I love this page - really need to print this image off again and make something else - it's a fabulous design.

I'm entering this in the current challenge at the One Sweet Challenge Blog for their Halloween themed October Challenge and also the A Step in the Dark Challenge Blog has an Anything Goes Challenge. And I'm also entering this in The Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog for their Halloween themed challenge!

Seaside....

March 14th 2014

A new card using a new image from Maigan Lynn - available at the QKD Store! Wow there was so much detail in this design - I had such fun with my Copic markers! Background digital papers are from Gecko Galz.

I printed the image on linen finish card for a more textured look although you have to be careful as the Copics can bleed a bit.

I tied a bow with some string and pink bakers twine and added a shell bead to finish it all off!

A Day by the Sea...

March 7th 2014

A new Maigan Lynn design available at the Queen Kat Designs Store! I've used "beachy" colours and patterned papers for my card along with a great anchor charm and little bubble stickers that look like water droplets - just perfect to embellish my seaside card!

Joy is a Flower that Blooms when You do ...

February 27th 2014
Can you believe it's nearly the end of February??? Where is the year going?

I couldn't resist making another Black & White card with this gorgeous "Black Calla" image available at the QKD Store! Maigan's image are always so great to work with - she has a lot of details and I just love the trademark "loooong" eyelashes LOL!!

I am also going to add this creation to The Cheerful Stamp Pad "Black & White" Colour Challenge!

Black Calla Lady...

February 20th 2014

Today I am sharing a card with a new image by "Maigan Lynn" available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - I just love this image - has an elegant feel!

Image was printed on white shimmer card and I added some coloured highlights with soft coloured Copic Markers. I used some shimmer lace patterned paper for the background, a silk ribbon & diamanti buckle for some glitz and some sparkly diamonds - very classy!

I am also entering this card at The Cheerful Stamp Pad in Vicki's "Black & White" themed challenge!

7 Swans a Swimming...

December 20th 2013

Sharing a new creation using part of a design by Maigan Lynn - "The Mermaid and the Swan" - I thought it was a good opportunity to make a Xmas card so I just printed the swan 7 times to make the 7th day of Christmas LOL!!!

Maigan's designs are available at the Queen Kat Designs Store so head over and check them out!

Kraft & Black Yet Again!!!

December 13th 2013
Well I just couldn't resist using these Maigan Lynn images (available at the Queen Kat Store) on some kraft & black colour combo cards - I am always happy with how this colour combo comes out so I never get sick of creating with these colours!

Last time I created with these 2 images I coloured them with soft pastel colours so these cards are quite different to the last two I made - isn't it great how colour can change the look of things.

I added some die cuts, lace & braid and little pearls & sparkly stones. Maigan always has the most gorgeous designs which I love creating with!

Beauties...

November 29th 2013
Today I am sharing some cards made with brand new images from Maigan Lynn available at the QKD Store! I've just used parts of the images for my creations today. I love to colour Maigan's images - she always has a lot of detail.

I used the November sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File Blog to layout the card - I thought this "Bits & Pieces" Sketch was just perfect for using up my bits & pieces of card & patterned papers that I can never bear to throw away!

I intend to make some cards using the whole of each image so stay tuned for those!!!

Celebrate with Lizzy in Purple & Yellow

November 7th 2013

My card for today's post uses one of Maigan Lynn's new images available at the Queen Kat Designs Store! I chose to use the purple & yellow colour scheme so I cound enter Vicki's colour challenge at her blog - The Cheerful Stamp Pad - these 2 colours look great together and I loved colouring "Lizzy" & her little dragons!

You Are A Star!

Make a Wish & Keep Hoping...

October 3rd 2013
Today I am sharing my mini journal pages using new images from Maigan Lynn available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - I cropped the images for my pages - you can see more new release designs and inspiration at the QKD Blog!

This first image is "Winged Shoes" and the image below is "Black Widow" - LOL I coloured them in pastels so they don't really look like Halloween designs - they have a much "softer" look!

The background of the pages was done using some pearl paints I had in little pots and I just used my finger to smear the paint. I added some scrabble like letter tiles to each page and mounted the images on some gorgeous Japanese fibre paper. I just love the colour scheme I chose for these pages and of course Maigan's images are some of my favourites!

Lizzy and her Dragons

September 26th 2013
Sharing a card made with another new image from Maigan Lynn available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - "Lizzy" - I always love the looooong eyelashes Maigan adds to her her images!

Image was printed on watercolour paper, coloured with watercolour pencils then washed over with a wet paint brush. I covered the entire image with Ranger Clear Crackle Medium and sponged some distress ink over it. I printed one of the little dragon a bit larger to add some dimension to the card along with some mesh, muslin & gorgeous orange glitter behind the work "Celebrate"!

New Designs from Maigan Lynn!

September 19th 2013
I am so lucky for the next few weeks to be working with some new images from Maigan Lynn - available at the Queen Kat Designs Store! Make sure you visit the QKD Blog for more new release designs used in creations by the DT.

The images below are "Lost Love" & "Winged Shoes" - perfect for making some Halloween themed cards!

I printed the images on watercolour paper and for this card I used water colour paints to colour the image and my aim was to give it a bit of a grungey look - she looks a bit grungey with her smeared eyeshadow - but she has "lost her love" so she would be upset!! I added a little tulle curtain, lace, a charm and a bit of bling! Also with the image I painted glass beads medium all over the image for a muted type look and for some texture - quite interesting "stuff" to work with!

My next card is more Halloween style - image coloured with Copic Markers - still on the watercolour paper so the colours didn't blend as well but I like the bright look. I layered some card and patterned papers, added the die cut "wish" letters and a few other embellishments.

Both cards use digital patterned papers from Gecko Galz.

Flowers Whisper Beauty...

September 5th 2013
I am sharing a Journal Page using a great Maigan Lynn image available at Queen Kat Designs "Gigi".

Background has been decorated with paint. Image has been coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut and added to the page along with some paper & muslin and little punchie flowers! And I stamped the wording on.

A Cup of Tea Under the Sea...

August 9th 2013

Today I am sharing a card made with a great Maigan Lynn image available from QKD. I just love Maigan's designs!

I've used this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches to set out my card - background card has been embossed and I rubbed a white ink pad across to cover the raised areas for a bit of a distressed look. Image has been fussy cut and coloured with Copic Markers.

Bryn & Tup

June 28th 2013

I loved creating with this great image from Maigan Lynn - available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - it's called "Bryn & Tup" - I love the Steampunk "feel" of this image and it was great to colour with all the background detail!

I used my distressing tool to rough up the edges of the background paper and the image. Cog/gear die cuts and the Happy die cut were coloured with various inks and I added the steampunk style charm to finish it off! Background digital paper is from Archangel Etsy Store.

I'd Like to be Under the Sea...

June 13th 2013

Today I am sharing a new Journal Page made for Queen Kat Designs using a fabulous digi image from Maigan Lynn! The journal background has been sprayed with shades of green Fireworks Ink, sponged with co-ordinating dye inks, stencilled with a Dylusions stencil, had some "bling" added along with my trusty tea dyed muslin & that great sticky mesh the builder left at my house LOL!! I used some alphabet stamps to add the wrding to the great Beatles song "Octopus's Garden" for a bit of fun! The "Mad Fancy" Mermaid image has been coloured with Copic Markers. I really love these wonderful designs from Maigan and have nearly finished colouring another of her images so will get creating with that as well!

This creation is also for the new Summer of Colour Challenge for 2013 which started this week - this year everyone is "voting" for the colour combination each week which is a bit of fun - this weeks vote is "Citron Green & Turquoise" - now I think I'm pretty close with these greens and turquoise shades! I was really good last year and managed to enter each week so I'm hoping to keep up the same good work this year & I can't wait to see what the colour combo is for next week!
